Job Overview
The Project Engineer/Manager is responsible for leading and delivering multiple lighting projects from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves coordinating closely with internal teams, manufacturers, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution while preserving the intended lighting design and technical requirements.
The Project Engineer/Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, site supervision, risk management, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. This position also plays a key role in maintaining strong client relationships, providing regular project updates, and ensuring successful delivery of lighting solutions across multiple project sites.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the full lifecycle of multiple lighting projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
· Coordinate with internal teams, manufacturers, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution and preserve design intent.
· Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and budgets, proactively addressing variances to protect project margins.
· Supervise site installations and activities, ensuring compliance with approved designs, safety standards, and testing & commissioning requirements. Champion a zero-incident culture and robust QA and QC.
· Identify and manage project risks, issues, and change control to avoid delays and cost overruns.
· Provide regular project reviews, status updates, and forecasts to stakeholders and management.
· Oversee project documentation, quality compliance, and client relationships, ensuring successful project delivery and long-term partnerships.
Qualifications and Experience
· Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Project Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 5-8 years of project management experience, preferably in lighting, construction, or engineering industries.
· Proven ability to lead and guide project teams and influence external site team.
· Strong knowledge of lighting systems, controls, construction processes, and project coordination.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage clients and senior stakeholders.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project); experience with AutoCAD, DIALux, or similar software is an advantage.
