Senior Event Manager

As a Senior Event Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the seamless execution of a variety of MICE projects. You’ll be a key player in orchestrating a diverse portfolio of projects, overseeing everything from concept to completion. You will work on simultaneous projects, managing the full scope of development, planning, production, operations, execution, and delivery of events.

The Gig

The purpose of this Digital Media Sales Manager role is to drive revenue growth through the sale of Healthengine's digital media products, including eDMS, consumer newsletters, display advertising, campaigns and Practice store advertising, to agencies, pharmaceutical companies, government health bodies, and direct advertisers. 

You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for these products, build deep relationships with digital media agencies, and position Healthengine's unique health-audience reach as a premium advertising channel across pharma, government health, consumer health, and allied health verticals.

Responsibilities:

• Digital Media Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy to grow media revenue from agencies, pharmaceutical companies, government health departments, consumer health brands, and direct advertisers.
  • Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of media sales opportunities using Insertion Orders and campaign briefs aligned with Healthengine's media proposition and audience reach.
  • Manage both project-based campaign sales (e.g. seasonal flu, vaccination awareness, clinical trial recruitment) and ongoing/recurring media placements to build a stable, growing revenue base.
• Agency and Advertiser Relationship Management:
  • Build and nurture deep relationships with digital media agencies, and strategically expand partnerships (e.g. media planning, buying, and specialist health agencies) to grow share of wallet across pharmaceutical, government, and consumer health clients. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for agency partners, understanding their campaign objectives, briefing cycles, and media planning workflows, and matching them with Healthengine's media inventory and audience capabilities.
• Campaign Consultation and Solution Selling:
  • Conduct needs analyses with agencies and advertisers to understand campaign goals (awareness, lead generation, HCP engagement), target audiences (consumers or healthcare providers), and success metrics (CPM, CPL, CTR, open rates).
  • Develop tailored media proposals and packages — combining eDM, display, newsletter, and performance products as appropriate — to deliver measurable campaign outcomes.
  • Present compelling media kits, audience insights, and post-campaign performance reports to win new business and secure renewals.
• Pipeline Management and Forecasting:
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline in Salesforce, tracking all media sales opportunities from brief/lead through to signed Insertion Order and campaign delivery.
  • Forecast media revenue accurately across Signed IOs, Ongoing Campaigns, Performance Campaigns, and Pipeline, and consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Content and Marketing teams to ensure media products (eDMs, blog content, newsletter placements) are delivered to a high standard and aligned with advertiser expectations.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on display advertising capabilities, platform ad placements, and new media product development.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations to ensure smooth campaign execution, billing (including monthly and quarterly invoicing), and reporting.

The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

In this role, you will join Google’s Content team in the Government Affairs and Public Policy Centers of Excellence. This is a global team, working across geographies, business areas and functions to help shape Google’s approach to content regulation and the future of the open web.

In this role, you will be part of a global team focused on policy and regulatory issues related to copyright, intellectual property, media/news, including issues related to AI. You will partner with Product, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Communications and Trust and Safety teams as well as teams across Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP). You will develop and execute our policy strategy, analyze and respond to new legislative and regulatory proposals, and craft our external narrative on key policy issues. You will provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders working on these issues and represent the company with government legislators and regulators, third-party experts, civil society organizations, and industry groups.

• Manage Google’s APAC Government Affairs and Public Policy Intellectual Property portfolio, working on global challenges relating to access to information with an emphasis on AI and copyright.
• Monitor and research emerging public policy issues. Develop policy positions, papers, and principles to shape public debate regarding copyright and media issues.
• Support outreach and engage with policymakers, regulators, industry players and Key Opinion Formers (KOFs) on copyright and media policy issues.
• Support the analysis and response to legislative and regulatory proposals, including developing negotiating positions and strategy. Advocate for Google externally and bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction.
• Work with Legal, Product, Engineering, Trust and Safety, and teams across Google to advise on copyright and media policy issues, legislative and regulatory risks and opportunities, and responsible policy and product development.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, working on technology issues or the policy environments that surround them.
• 7 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations related to copyright, intellectual property, and media/publisher policy issues.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in APAC copyright or media/news policy issues.
• Experience in executing cross-functional projects.
• Experience working with international teams and a variety of stakeholders, developing relationships internally and externally.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment, understanding the right levers to pull in a situation.
• Ability to identify opportunities and areas for improvement to lead and evaluate issues separately.
• Ability to help solve problems with multiple approaches to reach an optimal solution with excellent political, problem-solving, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
