Job Description

We are recruiting full-time Research Fellows to develop hybrid physics-AI methods for weather applications

Available data include:

•             Numerical weather prediction (NWP) model outputs

•             Weather satellite imagery

The successful candidates will:

•             Develop and benchmark multimodal AI / foundation-model approaches for spatiotemporal forecasting.

•             Work at the intersection of physics and AI, with an emphasis on geospatial computational modelling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

·       Lead the research and development of novel AI architectures that fuse vision data with temporal manufacturing process data to predict final product quality.

·       Develop advanced methodologies for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), moving beyond correlation to establish causal links between process variables and inspection outcomes.

·       Design and implement Knowledge Graphs and semantic reasoning layers that integrate domain expertise with LLMs/VLMs to automate "final sentencing" and provide explainable AI (XAI) insights.

 Job Requirements​:

• Bachelor or Master degree (fresh/recent graduates welcome) in Robotics, Computer Science,Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.​
• At least 2 years of experience
• Strong foundational knowledge in robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, and control.​
• Interest or exposure to robot learning, Learning from Demonstration, imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or Embodied AI concepts.​
• Proficiency in programming, especially Python and/or C++ ​

You will be part of the data science research team at the National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHRIS), National Heart Centre of Singapore (NHCS), reporting to the Principal Investigator. The team collaborates with local and global research institutions and multiple industry partners to advance data-driven cardiovascular research through innovative analytical approaches.

You are responsible for the progress of research projects under your care and are expected to demonstrate research expertise and capability in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing applied to healthcare data. You will support the development, integration, and analysis of large-scale healthcare datasets through the national HEALIX platform on SingCLOUD, including data mining, processing, quality assurance, and documentation. Additionally, you will assist the Principal Investigator in leading and supervising junior researchers, collaborate with IT administrators to enhance data pipelines, and be actively involved in research collaborations with partners to identify data-driven research opportunities. As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be a key senior resource in a team, actively contributing to and leading the development of robotics software solutions for industrial applications (manufacturing/logistics). You will focus on developing multi-system management and orchestration capabilities for multi-robot and multi-device systems, particularly using the Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF). This role involves leading aspects of project execution, proactive contribution to new capability development, and continuous learning.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to and lead specific areas of research and development for robotic software packages and tools for industrial applications using the ROS framework, including capabilities in Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF) multi-agent path planning, simulator design, perception, and motion planning. Drive application-oriented robotic research towards industrial automation using ROS 2.
• Contribute significantly to the architecture and lead the development of complex software solutions and core algorithms for interoperable multi-agent and multi-robot systems, focusing on coordination, scheduling optimisation, task assignment, and traffic deconfliction.
• Contribute to and lead the implementation of robust systems engineering approaches by translating business requirements into system requirements and validation methodologies, and develop comprehensive software testing and validation strategies in accordance with industry standards.
