Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive Automation Specialist to drive efficiency across infrastructure and operations through scripting and process automation. This role focuses on reducing manual effort, improving consistency, and enabling scalable operations across multiple technology domains.
The ideal candidate is hands on with scripting, familiar with automation frameworks, and comfortable working across infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps environments.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Development & Optimization
- Design and develop scripts to automate repetitive operational tasks across infrastructure environments
- Enhance existing automation workflows to improve efficiency and reliability
- Build and maintain reusable automation components and runbooks
Operational Automation
- Automate monitoring validations, health checks, and routine system tasks
- Support automation of backup verification and system maintenance activities
- Assist in patching workflows and automated deployment processes
Batch Processing & Job Automation
- Support and monitor batch job executions using enterprise scheduling tools
- Troubleshoot job failures and optimize batch workflows for stability and performance
DevOps & CI/CD Integration
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Support automation of provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks
- Assist in streamlining release and environment setup processes
Incident & Troubleshooting Support
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to automation scripts and workflows
- Optimize runbooks and automation logic based on incident learnings
- Escalate complex automation or integration challenges when required
Governance & Documentation
- Maintain script repositories, version control, and documentation standards
- Document automation processes, frameworks, and best practices
- Support compliance related automation and audit evidence generation
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Cloud, OS, and Infrastructure teams to identify automation opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or similar platforms
- Familiarity with batch job scheduling tools such as Control-M or equivalent
- Understanding of infrastructure operations, system administration, or cloud environments
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience in building and maintaining runbooks and automation frameworks
- Ability to work in a structured, SLA driven environment
- Good communication and documentation skills
