Job Overview
We are looking for a technically strong Operating System Specialist to support and maintain enterprise server environments across both Windows and Linux platforms. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system stability, security compliance, and operational efficiency across core infrastructure services.
The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in OS administration, Active Directory, DNS, and system hardening, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and support hybrid identity environments.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Monitoring
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments to ensure high availability and performance
- Monitor system health, resource utilization, and performance metrics across servers
- Analyze system logs and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues
Patching & Security Compliance
- Execute OS patching cycles and vulnerability remediation activities
- Perform system hardening in accordance with security and compliance standards
- Support audit requirements and ensure systems adhere to baseline configurations
Identity & Directory Services
- Administer Active Directory including user accounts, groups, and group policies
- Troubleshoot authentication issues, domain trust relationships, and access problems
- Maintain DNS services including zone configurations and replication health
Platform & Infrastructure Support
- Support PKI certificate lifecycle including issuance, renewal, and revocation
- Monitor and maintain Entra ID Connect synchronization between on premise and cloud identity
- Execute patch deployment and endpoint configuration using enterprise tools such as Endpoint Central
Troubleshooting & Incident Management
- Investigate OS level performance issues and system bottlenecks
- Support application deployments from an operating system and infrastructure perspective
- Assist in disaster recovery activities including server restoration and validation
- Escalate complex kernel or system level issues to higher support tiers when required
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain system documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure accurate record keeping for changes, incidents, and system updates
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Hands on experience with Windows Server and Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, AlmaLinux)
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and identity management concepts
- Familiarity with PKI infrastructure and certificate management
- Experience with Entra ID Connect or hybrid identity environments is an advantage
- Exposure to patch management tools such as Endpoint Central or similar platforms
- Understanding of system hardening, security best practices, and compliance requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, authentication, and infrastructure layers
- Ability to work in SLA driven environments and support operational incidents
- Good communication and documentation skills
