M&E Engineer

Job Description & Requirements

· Monitor and report on the progress of work to project manager;

· Control the progress of RFA, RFI, Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Status for on-time completion.

· Coordinate with client’s representatives, consultants, and subcontractors on all technical matters, including submission of method statement, drawings, materials, samples and work progress;

· Control site progress & installation quality as per approved Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Schedule for on-time completion.

· Assist for submission of evaluation of progress claim, variation work to M&E Manager

· Participate in all relevant project review meetings, site meetings, design meetings, and other project relevant meetings;

· Responsible for carrying out M&E technical meetings and resolving technical issues with record.

Requirements:

· Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, recognized by PE Board Singapore;

· Minimum 3 years’ work experience related projects in Singapore building and construction industry;

· Electrical/Mechanical Engineering experience in HDB projects or high-rise developments;

· Possess strong Electrical/Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experiences;

· Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with site teams to execute work

Responsibilities

• Oversee project costs from inception to completion by managing budgeting, cost planning, and financial control to ensure projects stay within budget
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts accurately and on schedule to maintain financial transparency
• Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy and consistency in project costing
• Manage and resolve contractual and payment-related issues with clients, consultants, and subcontractors professionally to maintain smooth project execution
• Lead tendering and cost estimation processes to produce competitive and well-supported submissions that align with project goals
• Monitor project expenditure, material usage, and cash flow, implementing corrective actions promptly to control costs
• Provide informed recommendations on procurement strategies and cost optimisation to enhance project profitability
• Conduct regular site visits to verify that project progress aligns with cost reporting and budget forecasts
• Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors to uphold quality standards and develop team capabilities

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• 5–8 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with subcontractor experience in waterproofing
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, and claims management essential for effective project delivery
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Quantity Surveying software/tools to support accurate project documentation
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to resolve project challenges efficiently
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines to ensure timely project completion

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and supervise marine construction projects till completion.
• Oversee and supervise the rock placing in marine construction.
• Oversee the supervise the sand filling in marine construction using marine barge / vessel
• Coordinate and monitor the reclamation work in the project and at the material supply source.
• Liaise with client, other relevant authorities, consultants, and other external and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of the project.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the construction industry
• Good communication and coordination skills with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work at Tuas, 5.5 work week

• Experience: 5 years as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with interior design experience (Residential & Commercial).
• Skills:
  Strong knowledge of costs, contracts, and materials in interior design.
  Proficient in cost analysis, budgeting, and contract administration.
  Familiar with quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
  Knowledge of local building regulations (Singapore standards).
• Qualities: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.

Job Scope

• To attend / carry out various types of survey on board ships and sites on cargo, cargo measuring equipment and marine related activities.
• To perform marine survey onboard vessels and cargo inspection on sites in order to assess and report on their condition for insurance claim.
• To verify the equipment onboard vessel to ensure compliance with various standards or specifications.

Job Requirement

• Nitec/ITE related in Marine or Diploma in Nautical, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering or Marine related from a local polytechnic/private institution.
• Experience onboard vessel will be an advantage such as Ex-Sea farers, Ex-Navy, Ex-PCG (police coast guard) and Ex-SCDF (marine)
