Job Description
· We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator with strong VMware expertise to join our infrastructure and environment build team.
· The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Unix/Linux systems and VMware vSphere environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across enterprise infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and administer Unix/Linux (RHEL) servers in production and non-production environments
· Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, and virtual networking
· Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
· Implement security hardening, patching, and compliance standards (CIS, STIG, internal policies)
· Troubleshoot complex issues across OS, virtualization, storage, networking, and application connectivity
· Manage storage (SAN/NAS), file systems, LVM, disk partitioning, and volume management
· Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, Perl, or Ansible Maintain backup, snapshot, and disaster recovery strategies
· Collaborate with application, database, and DevOps teams for deployments and migrations
· Maintain documentation (architecture, SOPs, troubleshooting guides)
· Participate in on-call support and after-hours activities
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
· Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS)
· Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions
· Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management
Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills
· VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification Linux certifications (RHCSA / RHCE)
· Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
· Experience with Red Hat OpenShift for container orchestration
· Strong Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting
· VMware infrastructure management and integration Scripting (Shell, Python) and automation using Ansible
· Knowledge of monitoring tools, logging, and analytics platforms
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
· Exposure to databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and web servers (Apache) is a plus
