Job Description

· Help define the technology roadmap and standards for database technologies covering traditional RDBMSs as well as modern NoSQL / specialized databases

Job Summary

A senior, highly skilled specialist responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of mission‑critical data center infrastructure through advanced controls and automation systems. The Senior Critical Facilities Engineer (Controls) applies deep expertise in BMS, control systems, and system integration to monitor, optimize, and stabilize critical facilities operations. This role operates with a high degree of independence within standard operating procedures and supports operational excellence by improving system behavior, alarm management, and control logic across the site.

Responsibilities

Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance

• Performs specialized preventive and corrective maintenance with a focus on controls, automation, and monitoring layers supporting critical facilities systems.
• Acts as a technical authority for Building Management Systems (BMS), DCOS, and associated control platforms, ensuring reliable monitoring and control of power, cooling, and life‑safety systems.
• Monitors and analyzes complex alarms, trends, and events within the BMS, independently resolving issues related to control logic, system behavior, and signal integrity.
• Leads investigation of abnormal system behavior, including false alarms, control sequence failures, sensor drift, and communication faults, recommending corrective actions.
• Supports control system interfaces across mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. chillers, CRAH/CRACs, generators, UPS interfaces), working closely with Electrical and Mechanical CF teams.

Site Administration & Incident Support

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the enhancement, maintenance, and expansion of enterprise-grade Generative AI applications and agent orchestration platforms.

The successful candidate will contribute across both frontend and backend technologies, working on AI-enabled applications, enterprise platform services, analytics capabilities, and secure application architecture. This role involves close collaboration with AI engineers, product stakeholders, and platform teams to deliver scalable and secure digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Platform and Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise application modules across frontend and backend systems.

• Lead the development of user management capabilities, including authentication, authorisation, session management, single sign-on (SSO), and access control mechanisms.

• Design and implement analytics dashboards and operational reporting capabilities.

• Support the evolution of platform architecture and application capabilities in accordance with business and technical requirements.

Marketplace and Access Management

• Design and develop application components supporting internal AI capability marketplaces.

• Implement role-based access control (RBAC), tenant isolation, and permission management frameworks.

• Enable secure publishing, sharing, versioning, and management of AI-enabled assets, datasets, document-based chat applications, and reusable platform capabilities.

Generative AI Integration and User Experience

• Collaborate with AI engineering teams to integrate AI agents, orchestration services, and intelligent workflows.

• Design and implement dynamic user interface components supporting AI-generated content and workflow-driven interactions.

• Support integration with external APIs, AI services, and enterprise platforms.

Analytics and Data Visualisation

• Develop solutions for tracking application usage, AI service consumption, user engagement, and operational performance metrics.

• Design and implement dashboards and visualisation capabilities to support business and operational decision-making.

• Contribute to future data platform and analytics initiatives.

Database and Application Architecture

• Design, implement, and maintain relational database solutions using PostgreSQL.

• Develop database schemas supporting workflow management, application state management, permissions, and user interactions.

• Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of backend services and data structures.

Security and Compliance

• Implement secure application development practices, including input validation, access controls, encryption, and secure token management.

• Support compliance with enterprise security, governance, and privacy requirements.

• Contribute to the design and maintenance of secure application architectures.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience covering both frontend and backend development.

• Advanced experience with React and Next.js, including modern frontend architecture and state management approaches.

• Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI, including asynchronous programming and API development.

• Strong experience designing and managing PostgreSQL database solutions and relational data models.

• Practical experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB, or equivalent cloud technologies.

• Experience developing secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise applications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with data analytics platforms, reporting solutions, or internal business applications.

• Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), AI services, or Generative AI platforms.

• Experience with AWS Bedrock, AI APIs, or equivalent AI technologies.

• Experience with data visualisation frameworks such as Recharts, D3.js, Chart.js, or similar technologies.

• Experience working within highly regulated, security-sensitive, or compliance-driven environments.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy in-house Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications to support manufacturing operations and meet business and customer requirements.

• Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, coding standards, and approved frameworks while developing reliable, efficient, and maintainable applications using Java, Python, and SQL/PL-SQL.

• Continuously enhance system performance, stability, and usability, with a strong focus on manufacturing-related systems such as shop floor control, warehouse management, and supply chain systems.

• Perform unit testing, support issue investigation, troubleshooting, and bug fixing to ensure system reliability.

• Evaluate the feasibility of project requirements, provide realistic development effort estimates, and proactively update the IT project team on progress and estimated completion timelines.

• Provide system application support, including responding to incidents, analyzing system issues, and supporting end users when required.

• Participate in basic system analysis and recommend practical, sustainable technical solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements/Skills required:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in software development using Java, Python, and PL/SQL.

• Basic understanding of SQL scripting, system application support, and IT helpdesk operations.

• Fundamental knowledge of infrastructure and network concepts is an advantage.

• Passion for software development with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

• Prior exposure to Manufacturing Information Systems or MES-related applications will be highly advantageous.
