About the role

We are looking for a Group Finance Manager to strengthen the Group’s financial discipline and operational finance management.

This role is suitable for candidates with experience in a Singapore-listed company environment, who are able to manage financial reporting, corporate governance requirements and cash flow management across the Group.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors, management and external stakeholders, ensuring financial operations are executed with discipline, accountability and timeliness.

What you'll be doing

Manage and monitor Group cash flow, including accounts receivable (AR) collections and accounts payable (AP) discipline

Strengthen working capital management and payment control, with strong discipline in enforcing AR collections and AP payment control

Review monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Coordinate annual reports, SGX announcements, AGM matters and board papers

Liaise with external auditors, internal auditors, sponsor and company secretary

Oversee audit processes and financial reporting deliverables

Position Summary

• Supports the monitoring of Asia-pacific regional units’ business plans, review of actuarial calculations (EV, pricing etc.) and communication with top management. Also monitor, manage and supervise the actuarial operational matters implemented by the regional business units and ensure that they follow the standard of DL Group.  
• Leads the communication with regional business units and management, and to provide comprehensive advisory support in terms of actuarial matters.  
• Supports the development and monitoring of Asia-pacific regional units’ business plans to ensure continued growth and profitability.  
• Support formulation of KPIs for business units through close coordination with DLHD; support the development of performance monitoring rules and tracking of actual results. 
• Take leadership role within ad hoc projects. 

Principal Responsibilities
1. Monitoring and Support of Business Units

• To have a general understanding of the business beyond their functional scope, and to align with the Regional Management Department and other related departments in the execution of projects in order to support and achieve the KPI goals of the business units.  
• Supports the validation, valuation, and review of the reasonability of assumptions and sales plans. 
• Supports the review on adequacy of regional business units’ business plans, reasonableness of financial projections and risk management initiatives. 
• Oversee product profitability, reinsurance, EV, VoNB and IFRS17 implementation for all business units across the region. 
• Manage the actuarial operational matters implemented by the regional business units and ensure that they are in accordance with the overall standard of DL Group. 
• For existing markets, support in the development of the actuarial personnel for each regional business unit. 
• For new markets, to support product development, actuarial topics, and local actuarial talent training and development. 

2. Communication with Business Units and Management

• To communicate between the actuarial targets and initiatives of each business unit in the region with the Global Headquarters. 
• To advise the management on the sound financial management of the business units including product pricing and design, financial and insurance risk and capital adequacy management, liability best estimate assumptions and measurements. 
• Ensure timely reporting to the Management and Head Office on the financial soundness of the business units and to offer recommendations on corrective actions if necessary. 
• Ensure regular and timely reporting to the Management and Head Office of business units top-line and bottom-line information.

3. Performance Management

• Support reporting framework ensuring high quality management information delivery and efficient work processes in close collaboration with other DLAP teams
• Support development and implementation of performance management (KPI) framework for the regional business units as well as DLAP

4. Other ad-hoc matters

• Guidance of project team(s), keeping projects on track, meeting budget goals, and deadlines.  
• Facilitation of conversation with all involved parties and stakeholders. 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and above
• Experience in life insurance actuarial field
• At least 10 years of working experience in life insurance company, with at least 5 years at Manager level or above.
• Experience working in the headquarters or regional office of a life insurance company listed on a major global stock exchange (e.g., Tokyo, New York, NASDAQ, London, Shanghai, Euronext), with direct involvement in actuarial functions such as pricing, valuation, or risk management.
• Hands-on experience with IFRS17 and/or ICS implementation, including interpretation and application of standards.
• Strong financial acumen, with ability to analyze and interpret financial indicators such as assets, product portfolios, regional performance, and regulatory impacts.
• In-depth knowledge of actuarial and accounting standards relevant to life insurance, including local and international regulations.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and geographies.
• Qualified Actuary (qualification of US, UK, Australia, Japan is preferable)

Job Descriptions:

- Oversee and manage group consolidation, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings and preparation of consolidated financial statements.

Job Requirements:

- Degree in accounting, ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
