Senior Process Engineer (Balance of Plant / Wastewater Systems)

Overview

NES Fircroft is partnering with a leading engineering organisation to hire a Senior Manager, Process to support a large-scale infrastructure project involving Balance of Plant (BOP), water and wastewater systems, and mechanical systems.

This role will play a key part in engineering design management, commercial coordination, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design Management

• Support the Project Leadership team in managing BOP design activities across water, wastewater, and plant systems
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project, regulatory, and operational requirements
• Review engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, functional descriptions, and design documentation
• Oversee preparation of Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and documentation

Procurement & Commercial Support

• Support preparation of tender documents and commercial submissions
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations for engineering and consultancy services
• Review contracts and commercial documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements
• Work closely with procurement and project teams on vendor selection and package evaluation

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and present cost, revenue, and budget reports to senior stakeholders
• Support budget planning and forecasting, including contingency allocation
• Monitor and control project expenditure to align with approved budgets
• Review and assess variation orders and cost impacts

Operations, Testing & Commissioning

• Support development of Testing & Commissioning (T&C) procedures and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) documentation
• Coordinate with operations teams on plant readiness, handover, and O&M requirements
• Review and support preparation of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) documentation and as-built records

Compliance & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and project-specific requirements
• Liaise with external stakeholders including clients, authorities, consultants, and auditors
• Identify potential risks and areas of non-compliance, recommending mitigation strategies
• Maintain strong working relationships with key project stakeholders

Administration & Governance

• Support preparation of management reports, presentations, and project documentation
• Review and validate procurement and financial transactions within internal systems
• Coordinate meetings, prepare minutes, and track key action items
• Maintain accurate and organised project records

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in process engineering within EPC / infrastructure / industrial projects
• Strong experience in:Wastewater / water treatment systems (WWTP, WTP)Balance of Plant (BOP) or plant utility systemsProcess design (PFD, P&ID, calculations, FEED / detailed engineering)
• Exposure to Testing & Commissioning, SAT, and plant operations (O&M)
• Experience in tendering, commercial evaluation, and contract review
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage

Job Responsibilities: 

• Process SAP accounting workflows in accordance with Business Process Control guidelines
• Verify supporting documents such as sales and purchase delivery notes and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance before posting transactions into the accounting systems 
• Execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including accurate entries for sales, purchases, and non-operating items, by applying the Closing Process Checklist to ensure completeness 
• Review and verify vendor and customer bank account applications, and provide clarification for third-party or cross-border payments when required 
• Systematically process 500 to 1000 workflows per month and maintain good communication flow with accounting members 

Job Requirements 

• Prior experience in both AP and AR
• Degree in Accounting (or its equivalent)
• Prior SAP experience would be advantageous 
• Detailed-focus and team player

• Working Location: Shenton Way MRT, CBD 
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 5.15pm 
• 6 months contract 
• Salary: $3500 - $3800
• Transport Allowance: $110 monthly

YOUR ROLE
·       Mentor/coach employees in Lean, Business Excellence & Six Sigma concept and knowledge
·       Identify value stream waste, coach and drive LEAN principle and methodologies for waste eliminations.
·       Facilitate and drive implementation of various site’s Operations Excellence programs, i.e. Site Classification Assessment, Kaizen, Productivity Improvement, Performance Management etc.
·       In liaison with the site team and site management team, perform as catalyst across operations for performance improvement at projects along with process change. 
·       Run various continuous improvement projects, rapid problem-solving exercises and other learning events.
·       Provide support and assistance to sites/operations/departments with the knowledge of Operations Excellence requirements and promote company initiatives
·       Responsible for Country Lean Reporting
·       To maintain and control documents based on CEVA Quality Management System (ISO9001 & AS9120)
·      Learn & Understand the Customer WMS systems
·       Able to do extensive Data
·       Analysis to understand the trends and provide recommendations on Budgets, Head Count requirements, Volume etc

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Independently lead a group of staffs to execute key improvement projects of Productivity, Cost and Quality to support Business Goals & Objectives.
• Possesses CI project leadership to ensure improvement projects / plans are implemented in a timely manner, well documented, presenting updates and outcomes of improvement initiatives and related activities.
• Work closely with operations to develop and deliver opportunities for improvements, with an action / strategic deployment plans.
• Pro-actively work with site in promoting continuous improvement (Kaizen) cultures across the operations; deliver
• Kaizen training & workshop, review & coach site on quality Kaizen,identify key Kaizen projects impacting business performance
• Work closely with site on Site Classification Assessment (SCA) deployment; develop and execute SCA support plan as functional expert, coach LEAN metrics & tools implementation, develop assessment schedule & conduct assessments, track & monitor DIY progress and through the knowledge and experience help to develop and improve the metrics’ content.
• Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in LEAN / Continuous Improvement, conduct necessary trainings including LEAN games, SCA, Kaizen, structured problem solving and LEAN Introduction Training (LIT) as per LEAN plan.
• Provide Data Analysis insights using the latest tools like Power BI, Excel , VBA/ SQL Scripts etc.
• Prepare and review LEAN reports (CL KPIs, SCA, 5S, Kaizen, productivity, saving, budgeting and etc.), and ensure timely submission.
• Work on the SAP S4 Hana System and help in the trainings, UAT and Document creations.
