Job Summary

The IT ( Systems ) Engineer is responsible for ensuring 24/7 server availability to support our global platform for pathogen data sharing. This role focuses on setting up, deploying, and maintaining virtual machines based on data submission demands, while liaising with network support team to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

The candidate will work closely with system administrators, and scientific teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure network operations that support continuous global access to genomic data.

Job Responsibilities:

• Server management (Apache, Nginx, etc), network configuration, implementing security measures (firewalls, SSL), performance monitoring, and DNS management.
• Set up, configure, and deploy virtual machines in response to varying data submission and processing loads.
• Manage relationships with network providers and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Troubleshoot systems/network issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore services promptly.
• Conduct regular performance assessments and capacity planning to anticipate infrastructure scaling needs.
• Support disaster recovery and failover mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted platform operation.
• Collaborate with compute and application teams for systems integration.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, performance logs, and provider agreements.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in networking, virtualization, and infrastructure automation.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer and Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Possess web hosting experience in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server infrastructure to ensure website uptime, security, and performance.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and system administration.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and network security implementation.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g. Proxmox VE, VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, or cloud equivalents).
• Knowledge of shell scripting , common programming languages like Perl, Python, Java, C/C++.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with ability to respond effectively under pressure.

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow to join the LKCMedicine’s Centre for Geroscience and Geromedicine to focus on various aspects of translational bat immunology and aging research. The work will be conducted in a research group led by Nanyang Assistant Professor Ahn Matae who is a pioneer in bat immunology. The projects focus on learning from bats with exceptional healthy longevity to develop bat-inspired new targets and strategies to fight human diseases and aging, and have multiple national and international collaborations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project. 

• Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and/or research findings. 

• Assist researchers in programming, data analysis and literature review in various research projects. 

• Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations or written reports/ scientific manuscripts/literature for publication.

Key Competencies and Requirements:

Job Requirements

3.      Experience in managing metadata repositories, developing data dictionaries and catalogues, and maintaining semantic documentation to support data governance and standards development.

4.      Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, with experience in big-data frameworks (e.g., Spark/Scala, PySpark).

5.      Strong expertise in machine learning and model development; experience in deep learning and advanced analytical methods (e.g. causal inference, survival modelling, latent class analysis, omics analytics) preferred.

This position will have responsibility for providing process support and installation of new plasma etch / clean / deposition systems at customer sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research programmes in remote sensing technology and applications. He/she is expected to continuously enhance the scientific knowledge of the Centre and participate actively in remote sensing technology development and application projects. 

Experience in one or more of the following research areas will be advantageous:
* Atmospheric remote sensing : Atmospheric radiation, aerosols and clouds, particles/gases transport/dispersion modeling. 
* Aquatic remote sensing: Ocean optics, water quality, bathymetry and sea bottom characterization.
* Terrestrial remote sensing: Regional land cover/vegetation/biomass mapping, biomass burning, land use/Land cover change.
* Sensing technology and applications: Synthetic aperture radar, hyperspectral imaging, high resolution 3D modelling and precision mapping.
* Machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques for remote sensing applications.

Qualifications

• A Doctoral Degree in Science, Engineering, or in other relevant disciplines with at least 8 years of research experience in remote sensing or related fields.

Job Description

The National Quantum Federated Foundry (NQFF) is seeking a research engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing essential quantum hardware and device components. The candidate will join our efforts spanning multiple quantum technology platforms ranging from trapped ions to integrated photonics and superconducting devices.

About the role

You will be embedded in a team of research scientists and engineers, contributing hands-on to the development and characterisation of quantum hardware. Based on your strengths and experience, your work will be shaped around one or more of the following focus areas:

• Device Fabrication & Engineering — Perform device fabrication and support the development and optimisation of the processes: this may include cleanroom-based nanofabrication work, electrical assembly (wirebonding, soldering, etc), and prototyping (machining, 3D printing, etc).
• Optical & Photonics Engineering — Perform optical & electrical characterization of photonics devices; construct and maintain optical measurement setups for device testing; data analysis and feedback towards improved device designs.
• Cryogenic Systems & Measurements — Set up, operate, and maintain cryogenic systems (incl. dilution refrigerators, cryostats); integrate and test quantum devices at (down to) millikelvin temperatures; develop automated testing workflows, acquire and analyse experimental data.
