Research Analyst (2 Positions) – 12‑Month Contract

Salary: SGD 3,800 – 4,200
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 6.00pm

Role Overview

As a Research Analyst, you will support labour market research initiatives by translating complex data into meaningful insights. You will contribute to research studies and surveys, provide methodological advice, and support evidence‑based policy and workforce planning decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop research reports, briefs, and articles using clear and compelling data storytelling
• Design, implement, and analyse studies and surveys to identify emerging labour market trends and gaps
• Provide advisory support on statistical, analytical, and modelling methodologies
• Track labour market developments and recommend innovative approaches to data analysis and visualisation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure research outputs are accurate, relevant, and impactful

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with a strong interest in data, numbers, and pattern analysis
• Minimum 2 years of experience in research, analysis, or data‑related roles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data clearly
• Self‑motivated, responsible, and highly detail‑oriented

• Exposure to statistical or analytical tools such as SAS, R, Python, or STATA

 Job Summary:

• To plan, lead, organise and oversee the teaching and classroom delivery to achieve desired learning outcomes, and organise corporate activities that contribute to the success of the organisation and increase customer engagement.

 Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years managing a team of teachers

Our third-party due diligence (VANTAGE) team assess our clients’ current, former or potential counterparties, looking for any issues that might pose a reputational or business risk to them, wherever they may be in the world. The work is compliance-focused and volume-driven.

The Associate Research Manager is responsible for the quality of VANTAGE work. S/he will oversee and guide Researchers to ensure they produce clear, analytical and exceptionally well-written reports which help our clients protect their integrity and reputation.

S/he will also support the Research Manager in training researchers and managing projects, leveraging internal and external resources in order to complete VANTAGE projects in a timely and effective manner. 

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of open-source intelligence and public record research, experience in writing and reviewing due diligence reports, people management skills and has excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills.

People Management

• Manage a team of researchers and senior researchers

Project management of third-party due diligence

• Ensure VANTAGE work is properly scoped, allocated to researchers, tracked and ultimately delivered on time and within budget
• Communicate directly with clients in order to clarify the scope of projects, address questions, and suggest potential additional avenues of research
• Review and approve (content and editorial) VANTAGE work, ensuring projects are of high quality and meet Clients’ specifications
• Liaise with and provide feedback to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring the quality of work they provide is high and adheres to our global delivery standards
• Engage with colleagues in the Business Intelligence team whenever VANTAGE work requires their input and collaboration

Regional research initiatives

• Monitor quality of work and give feedback to researchers; motivate and guide researchers to ensure they are focused and directed effectively on operational and other aspects of the work

• Education to degree level (minimum of a bachelor’s or equivalent experience)
• Full fluency in English written and spoken is essential

• Experience in writing, researching and reviewing/editing due diligence reports; demonstrated excellence in research, writing and editing in English
• Experience in managing projects, especially where the project team is spread across several locations
• At least 1-2 years’ experience in line management
• Strong knowledge of research techniques, databases, networks, online registers and archives and other OSINT research tools

Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:

Research Assistant / Associate in Programme Evaluation

The Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research Centre (HIPER) (https://hiper.nus.edu.sg/) at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), NUS, is seeking to hire an individual with relevant skillset and experience to work in the area of programme evaluation and health services research.

The individual will play a critical role in anchoring the Centre’s Programme Evaluation Unit (Health Services) that will be servicing the Ministry of Health. The individual will contribute to the Centre’s research agenda to support programme evaluation and health services research in Singapore, gaining the opportunity to work with leading experts, policy makers, and programme implementers in the field. They will be expected to perform research administration, conduct formative and evaluation-driven research, and disseminate findings.

The role will require a highly motivated and capable team-player who can engage with incoming briefs and help shape and construct deliverables in a timely manner. As a researcher of the Centre, they will be presented with various opportunities to further develop their skills and experience to ensure personal growth in their career. The role benefits from exposure to many areas of public health ranging from evaluations of patient reported outcomes and experiences to evaluating national strategic plans. This will engage the individual in building professional networks across multiple agencies in Singapore and possibly overseas.

The successful candidate will join an active and supportive team that enjoys working together collaboratively, problem solving in creative and effective manner, and efficiently delivering theory-driven yet applied, practical outputs that will improve population health outcomes.

Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an established University, preferably in public health, health sciences, social sciences, or statistics, with advanced quantitative research skills and good understanding of Singapore’s health system and landscape.

The grade of appointment will be accorded based on qualifications and work experience.

Applicants with following experiences and skills are preferred:
• Experience managing health services research and evaluation projects
• Experience conducting quantitative research, including design and collection of survey data, processing and analysis of large data sets, and other quantitative methods / data
• (optional) Experience conducting qualitative research, including design and conducting of focus groups and interviews, analysis and interpretation of qualitative data, and other qualitative methods / data
• Experience with overall project management, including ethics applications and institution administration processes
• Driven, collaborative, independent, and flexible
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-organised and meticulous
• Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
• Strong proficiency in the use of statistical software, preferably R or Stata, for statistical analyses
• (optional) Strong proficiency in the use qualitative data software, preferably Atlas.ti or nVivo, for data management and analysis
• Adept at learning new software packages and online digital systems

The appointed candidate will report directly to Dr. Ian Ang and be embedded in the wider team supervised by both Dr. Ian Ang and Dr. Zoe Hildon.
