About the Role

• Develop and work with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring efficient use of staff and volunteers.

• Responsible for ground sensing to find out the needs of the clients/caregivers in the area (working closely with the Outreach Services Team) and which programmes to prioritise.

Assist the Programme Manager in programme planning and delivery which include developing / implementing activities that are evidence-informed and clinical relevance for clients, caregivers and families.

• Plan client and caregiver training programmes, group activities and/or events

• Conduct pre-post or 6-monthly programme evaluation, update clients’ progress, collate and anlyse statistics, as needed.

• Coordinate or conduct training for clients and caregivers in community living, social and emotional wellbeing, physical maintenance and vocational activities.

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the clients.

Networking & Professional Matters

• Engage and partner referral agencies, community organisations and any other relevant agencies, for programming and events

• Participate in events organised or supported by SPD and assist the organisation in developing strong networks with other Social Service Agencies (SSA), community organizations and funding bodies like MSF, SSOs, PA, NCSS, SG Enable.

• Responsible for the booking of facilities within the CC and working with community partners to plan for social inclusion activities

Brief Description

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the incumbent for Programme Coordinator position is a Full-Time position providing classroom facilitation for BCARE JOY Connection (JOYC). The incumbent teaches and manages classroom, provides for students’ welfare, and works closely with the Centre Manager in planning the programmes and special events for students in JOYC. 

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities for this position include:

I)        Teaching and Classroom Management

1.            Supervise students and ensure that all daily homework assigned by the school are completed before the child returns home.

2.            Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and discipline in the classroom.

3.            Prepare and create teaching aids, materials, charts and worksheets.

4.            Decorate wall displays that depict the relevant theme, subject or event.

5.            Update and maintain the reward system.

6.            Guide and keep students constructively engaged in activities that are developmentally and educationally appropriate through positive management strategies.

II)       Providefor Students’ Welfare

7.            Fetch students from nearby school, ensure the safety of the students at all times.

8.            Provide care for the child – medication, meals and other needs.

9.            Communicate and work closely with parents or the Centre Manager for the development of the child.

10.         Conduct home visitation, do reports and submit to the Centre Manager.

III)      Programme Facilitation

11.         Work with the Centre Manager to improve teaching resources.

12.         Assist in planning school holiday programmes and special programmes such as Children’s Day, National Day, Teacher’s Day, Christmas Day etc.

IV)      Others

13.     Attend staff meeting and staff-sharing sessions.

14.     Work on any other areas that the Centre Manager may direct as and when necessary.

1. Taking on the administrative duties required to support the effective implementation of the Applied Learning Programme (ALP), which include:

• Preparing and setting up equipment/devices for Applied Learning Programme (ALP) lessons.

• Carrying out checks, maintenance and day-to-day running of the Applied Learning Programme (ALP) room.

• Assisting trainers/ teachers in programme delivery.

• Conduct regular maintenance and stock check of equipment/devices in the Applied Learning Programme (ALP) room.

• Monitoring inventory/checklist of equipment/devices/expendables.

• Recording damaged/missing/broken equipment.

• Ensuring all equipment/devices are kept in order by the teacher/students after lessons.
