We are seeking a Chief Architect to take end-to-end ownership of enterprise and platform architecture across the Group. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for defining how SingPost designs, builds, operates, and evolves technology over the next decade. Enterprise and Platform Architecture Ownership

• Define and own enterprise-wide system, service, and platform architecture across Singapore Post Group.

Integration and Event-Driven Design

• Lead API-first integration strategies with explicit versioning, compatibility, and deprecation policies.

• Design and govern resilient event-driven systems, including:

  • Back-pressure and flow control mechanisms

  • Idempotency and replay semantics

  • Ordering guarantees and trade-offs

  • Poison message handling and dead-letter strategies

Infrastructure and Runtime Architecture

• Architect container orchestration and workload scheduling behavior.

Failure-Driven and Operability-Focused Design

• Design systems from first principles, starting with networks, failure modes, and operational realities.

  • Logs that remain usable during partial outages

  • Traces that reflect causality and system behavior

Hands-On Technical Leadership

The Director-General provides strategic leadership and oversees the organisation’s management and operational performance, driving long-term business strategies, managing senior teams, and ensuring governance and financial oversight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans and long-term business objectives to drive organisational growth
• Lead and direct senior management and departmental teams to achieve corporate goals
• Identify and pursue business opportunities to expand organisational impact
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient performance and alignment with strategic objectives
• Monitor departmental activities and implement operational policies and performance management frameworks
• Lead budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure cost control and sustainability
• Monitor financial performance and enforce risk management and financial governance practices
• Ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards
• Establish policies and procedures to promote organisational accountability and transparency
• Represent the organisation in business and industry engagements to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships
• Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and regulatory bodies to support organisational objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 15 years of industry experience, including senior management and leadership team management experience
• Relevant professional certification such as BCA licence certification from the Building and Construction Authority

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s sales and business development strategy

• Identify and secure new residential, commercial, and corporate interior design opportunities

• Build and maintain relationships with property owners, developers, agents, designers, contractors, and corporate clients

• Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closing

• Set sales targets, manage pipeline performance, and deliver revenue growth

• Recruit, lead, and mentor the sales team where required

• Work closely with design and project teams to ensure client requirements are properly translated into proposals and project delivery

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand to refine go-to-market strategy

• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and management updates

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior sales, business development, or commercial leadership role

• Prior experience in interior design, renovation, fit-out, construction materials, furniture, or related industries preferred

• Strong network in Singapore’s property, renovation, or design ecosystem is an advantage

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills

• Strong leadership, planning, and execution ability

• Independent, target-driven, and commercially minded

• Ability to lead from the front and build business from the ground up
