Senior Software Engineer - eOps (Day of Ops)

Role Overview

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering and managing SIA's Air-to-Ground digital products through technical excellence, infrastructure engineering, and DevOps practices. This role drives business outcomes by designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud and on-premises solutions while ensuring security, compliance, and operational stability for aviation connectivity systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Infrastructure Engineering

- Design, implement, and manage complex AWS cloud infrastructure and on-premises systems for Air-to-Ground connectivity products

- Lead infrastructure setup for critical aviation systems including firewall configuration, networking, database management, and security protocols

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• Lead the implementation of industrial hygiene (IH) and occupational health (OH) programs in compliance with applicable local regulatory requirements.
• Lead risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure workplace safety.
• Support incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture through regular engagement, communication, and presence on the shop floor.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Support initiatives to comply with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements:

• Registered WSHO
• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, WSH or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in EHS roles, preferably within chemical or process Industries
• Strong understanding of local EHS regulations and standards
• Ability to lead EHS training, risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
• Familiar with environmental compliance including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives
• Demonstrates a proactive approach to continuous improvement, translating initiatives into measurable results.
• Proven ability to develop and implement EHS programs
• Self-driven, detail-oriented and ability to work independently and part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams
• Registered FSM is highly desirable
• Experience with EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO14001)
