The lab integrates molecular virology, immunology, and advanced disease models to investigate how emerging viral infections reprogram host immune responses and disrupt tissue homeostasis across organ systems, with a central focus on viral immunopathogenesis and host responses.

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support research projects in the JChen Lab focused on viral immunopathogenesis, including mechanisms of neuroinflammation and musculoskeletal disease.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory experiments using molecular, cellular, and virology-based techniques under appropriate biosafety conditions

• Assist in the execution of research projects, including experimental setup, data collection, and documentation

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department of Diagnostic Radiology is committed to advancing imaging sciences for precision medicine, with strengths in medical image analysis, neuroimaging, and AI-driven healthcare. Appointments will be made on a one-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will support projects in medical image analysis and AI-driven healthcare research, working closely with the Principal Investigator and research team. The RA’s role will include assisting with data processing, algorithm development, and research support for ongoing imaging projects. Specifically, the RA will:

1. Support research activities in medical imaging and AI, including data curation, preprocessing, and analysis.
2. Assist in the development, testing, and validation of computational models for imaging applications.
3. Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations.

Qualifications

The applicant should:
