JOB SCOPE & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Familiar with RO, demin, mixed bed, ultra-pure, neutralization, chemical preciptation (including HF, heavy metal, backgrind etc.), biological treatment etc. and specialty processes.
• Develop process design packages: heat & mass balances; PFDs; P&IDs; process calculations.

The Process Engineer is task to support engineering activities required in existing product sustainment, new product introduction, and process improvement to support current and long term needs of Optics operations.

The Process Engineer ensures safe, reliable Total Gas Management and uninterrupted ultra-high purity carrier gas supply to our semiconductor fabrication customers based in Woodlands. This role supports plant operations, resolves operational issues, maintains plant availability, and implements the Air Liquide Industrial Management System (IMS) while upholding strict safety and quality standards.

• Ensure smooth, safe, and reliable daily operations, conducting regular safety, housekeeping, and standard compliance audits.

• Coordinate and report monthly site maintenance schedules to the Site Facility Manager, ensuring strict compliance with division procedures.

• Evaluate maintenance delay justifications, audit vendor/Reliability Centre work quality quarterly, and ensure work orders close within three months.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology, NITEC in Chemical Process Technology or Higher NITEC in Chemical Technology or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience
• Entry level candidates without experience are welcome to apply
• Knowledge in Distributed Control System will be advantageous

• Able to perform rotating shift work
• Able to perform overtime work when required

Job scope:

• Assist or lead material movement from AMS to the Pilot Plant/PRL, including bulk material withdrawal, staging, transfer, receiving, warehousing, and issuance to manufacturing.
• Execute SAP transactions related to material movements.
• Perform weighing and dispensing activities in accordance with requirements.
• Stage and issue materials to the operations team based on the production plan.
• Monitor warehouse supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure proper material rotation following FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Maintain accurate inventory through routine physical counts.
• Support preparation and shipment of finished products for their intended use.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and organize storage areas by managing floor space, monitoring storage conditions, and complying with GMP standards.
• Comply with safety and quality standards
• Perform weighing and dispensing activities for APP and PRL operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and manufacturing processes, ensuring stable, high-yield production
• Lead process optimization and scale-up for resin systems, impregnation, drying, lamination, and curing processes
• Drive process qualification and validation for new materials, formulations, equipment, and process changes
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve yield, delamination, voids, and surface quality issues
• Establish and improve process control strategies (SPC, Cp/Cpk) for critical parameters such as resin content, gel time, flow, and curing profiles
• Analyze production data to implement continuous improvement initiatives for yield, cycle time, and throughput
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams on formulation improvements, NPI, and technology transfer
• Lead engineering and productivity improvement projects, ensuring measurable gains in efficiency and cost
• Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, improve material utilization, and enhance on-time delivery(OTD)
• Develop and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, control plans) to ensureconsistency and compliance
• Ensure adherence to EHS, quality, and industry standards, particularly in handling resins, solvents, and high-temperature processes
• Mentor junior engineers and act as process owner/SME, supporting capability development and operational excellence
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by Management from time to time

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical or related)
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Proven expertise in process control, yield improvement, and problem-solving methodologies (SPC, DOE, Six Sigma)
• Experience in NPI, scale-up, and cross-functional project leadership
