Key job responsibilities

In this position, the candidate will work closely with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver submarine cable projects across the globe. The candidate should be able to represent and lead for Amazon in deployment and operational meetings, coordinate complex projects spanning several geographies and deliver the project to our high standards. You will have deep knowledge of how to construct subsea amplified fibre-based networks specifically including experience in route survey, route engineering, and marine operations.

A day in the life

The Subsea Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of submarine network deployment, operation, upgrades and management within AWS. We own the technology roadmap and standards for submarine cable, optical fiber, installation methods, procurement of the optical equipment, RSPC and associated operational models and security postures. We define the contractual framework for all required elements adding capacity that supports the AWS Backbone Network for our customers. The team works closely with the Regional Business Development teams to deliver submarine capacity to a global standard, enabling economic and scalable consistency for all our customers.
