What would a Project Manager (Freelance On-site) do at WPP Production?

As a Project Manager (Freelance On-site), you'd be responsible for project managing localisation work for our client's Marketing Communication materials across different platforms. Working closely with our client's Marcom Project Managers and a network of creative talents from various markets across South East Asia (SEA), you'd also engage with other cross-functional teams of producers and project managers to ensure work is delivered on time, on quality and within budget. You'd constantly need to communicate and negotiate priorities and deadlines with internal and external teams to ensure expectations are well managed. Your primary tasks include organising and coordinating schedules, distributing workload, tracking progress of projects.

We require a dedicated, full-time freelance Project Manager who can reliably commit to on-site work at our client's One North location. Project assignments will involve 3-5 weeks of full-time, on-site presence each week. There will be 4-5 on-site engagements per year - hence we need a freelancer who can commit to on-site work arrangement. 

Responsibilities

Validator Network Management

• Organize teamwork, create a balanced work schedule and ensure work is of high standards and delivered on time
• Flag any potential team issues to the line manager and be actively involved in finding a solution
• Highlight and resolve quality control issues with the network 

Project & Account Management

• Coordinate and ensure all parties follow the agreed workflows and manage them through the process
• Ensure that there is clear division and allocation of workload among team members
• Ensure that trackers are updated at all times
• Monitor timelines and manage client expectations
• Advise line manager on resource gaps and flag potential issues
• Ensure account delivers consistently against all contractual obligations including SLAs and KPIs 
• Identify bottle necks/pain points for the validation network, suggest resolution and advise

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years Project Management/Traffic background in an ad agency or in-house creative department or language service agency
• Experience managing multi-market projects
• Experience working on global brands, ideally across all media, including print, interactive and film
• Experience working on localisation or linguistic projects will be a bonus
• Demonstrable experience managing total creative workflow, i.e, internal briefing, briefing to vendors/studios, managing key milestones/deadlines, presentations/internal approvals, executions, delivery
• Proven project management skills
• Self-driven, organised and have an eye for detail
• Proficient with technology and tools
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in high-pressure situations and tight time frames
• A hands-on, can do approach to solving problems
• Must be able to work full days on-site at the clients office at One North during peak period 
• Able to start in July and commit on freelance/intermittent basis

Overview

The Copyeditor/Subeditor is responsible for copyediting, proofreading and production editing for one of our client's marketing communications materials, working closely with writers and other creatives to maintain the highest possible standards.

The ideal candidate is technically-savvy, possesses a keen eye and an exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy in each project copy. He/She should be flexible, adaptable and results-driven, with the skills to work across stakeholders, and an ability to focus and prioritise in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You will be required to build strong working relationships with the in-market and global teams to ensure delivery of linguistically and tonally perfect campaigns that will ensure the client’s products stand out in your market/s.

We are looking for this person to freelance with us indefinitely. Due to the confidential nature of certain projects, this role would require you to work full days onsite at the client's/our offices at times for about 3-5 weeks per campaign.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing in-country validation of customer-facing marketing content across digital, print and in-store communications, with a focus on consistency with brand tone of voice
• Edit and proofread editorial, marketing, and social media copy
• Work closely with in-country team on a high volume of projects and deliver on time and to an excellent standard, often with short deadlines
• Responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent tone of voice, personality and cultural relevance for Singapore.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
• Leverage glossaries and style guides to ensure alignment with the brand’s tone of voice, ensuring clarity and accuracy of translations, and maintaining the highest possible standards
• Ensure clarity and accuracy in communications, and maintain the highest possible standards
• Responsible for ensuring product and technical accuracy, as well as linguistic accuracy (grammar and spelling, as well as cultural relevance)
• Ensure special attention is paid to whether content is appropriate and correct for the Singapore market
• Responsible for providing ongoing linguistic guidance and feedback to the clients and project managers
• Proactively contribute ideas to the project management or traffic team for process improvement
• Responsible for keeping own product and brand knowledge up to date

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in copyediting and/or subediting for both marketing and technical materials for the Singapore market
• Experience in editing and proofreading marketing and communications materials, preferably for a creative or consumer brand. 
• Must also have a nuanced understanding of language conventions, style and usage 
• Possess familiarity with U.S. English style and usage
• Experience working for global brands
• Working knowledge of translation and project management tools
• Experience in supporting the development and maintenance of style guides and glossaries
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work as a team member
• Must be able to perform effectively and efficiently under time pressure
• Solid understanding and grounding in the SG-English language style, usage, grammar, and punctuation
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Possess a solid understanding of the creative development and production process
• Must be flexible and able to adapt within an environment of constant change
• Ideal candidates will have previous editorial, proofreading, and localisation experience at an advertising agency, marketing communications group, or localisation/transcreation agency
• Must be able to work onsite at our client's office at One North
