Position: Boarding Officer
Working Days: Monday – Saturday (half day on Saturday)
Working Hours:
Mon–Fri: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sat: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Work Location:
2 minutes’ walk from Joo Koon MRT
Salary: SGD 2,700-3,000 per month (before Boarding Allowance) depending on experience.
Job Purpose
The Boarding Officer serves as the primary operational contact for vessels calling at port, ensuring smooth vessel entry and departure by handling all required documentation, declarations, and on-site coordination in compliance with port regulations.
This role involves a combination of on-board, site-based, and administrative duties, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage operational schedules that may vary according to vessel movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend vessels to process port entry and departure formalities and deliver required supplies
- Coordinate and monitor cargo operations, including loading/unloading activities and related documents
- Liaise with clients and port authorities on operational and clearance matters
- Track vessel arrival and departure schedules and coordinate operational resources accordingly
- Prepare quotations, proforma disbursements, invoices, and statutory documentation
- Assist with warehouse-related tasks, including packing, organizing, and inventory management
- Perform driving duties to deliver goods and documents to designated locations
Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 3 Driver’s License, vehicle provided.
- Experience in the shipping, ship agency, or ship chandler industry is preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours to support vessel schedules.
- Ability to manage both documentation and field work
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with Ship Captains, Chief Engineers, clients, and agencies
