Job Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain production, testing, or laboratory equipment by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform routine calibrations, verification, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting or repair work to ensure smooth operation and minimize operational downtime.
• Assist in setup, calibration, and verification of machines, tools, and measurement instruments.
• Support senior or lead technicians during more complex maintenance, testing, calibration, or equipment-related tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, calibration results, and repair; promptly report any abnormalities, defects, or safety concerns.
• Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, company safety guidelines, and quality requirements at all times.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, to enhance maintenance practices, workflow efficiency, equipment handling, housekeeping, and workplace safety.
• Perform other related technical or operational duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• ITE, Polytechnic Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates are welcome. Candidates with relevant experience in manufacturing, maintenance, laboratory, or equipment operation environments will have an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, maintenance tools, machine operation, and standard workshop practices.
• Good understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow safety rules, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office, data entry, record-keeping).
• Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn; able to work under supervision and follow technical instructions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment and meet task timelines with accuracy and professionalism.
• Good attention to details, a hands-on mindset, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interpret and translate customer instructions into clear internal work instructions, ensuring alignment with quotations, specifications and referenced standards.

• Provide technical input to the Sales Administration Department to ensure accurate scoping of quotations and work orders.

• Liaise with customers to clarify test requirements, provide technical advice, and address queries related to sample preparation, testing methods, and turnaround times.

• Coordinate job scheduling between the Workshop and Test Departments, ensuring timely prioritization and readiness of samples.

• Support process improvements by reviewing SOPs and contributing to training and development initiatives for junior staff and workshop teams.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory operating under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

• Strong understanding of metallic materials, alloy specifications, and chemical compositions (e.g., steel, stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, aluminium, titanium).

• Knowledge of welding processes, welding consumables, and material properties in industrial applications.

• Strong technical foundation in materials engineering and analytical testing techniques.

• Good communication and relationship -building skills with both internal teams and customers.

• Ability to explain technical topics clearly and provide effective recommendations.

• Certifications such as CWI or CSWIP 3.1, and PCN Level 2 in Visual Inspection will be advantageous.
