Role Overview
The Crew Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all crew-related aspects of broadcast, sports, and live event productions. This role ensures that the right personnel are sourced, scheduled, and deployed efficiently to deliver high-quality productions on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
Crew Planning & Scheduling
Source, hire, and manage freelance and full-time production crew (e.g., camera operators, audio engineers, lighting technicians, stage managers, riggers).
Develop and maintain detailed crew schedules for broadcasts, sports events, and live productions.
Ensure appropriate crew coverage across pre-production, live execution, and post-production phases.
Production Operations
Collaborate with producers, directors, and technical teams to understand crew requirements and production needs.
Oversee crew deployment onsite and ensure all roles are filled and functioning efficiently.
Manage call sheets, crew briefings, and daily run-of-show logistics.
Vendor & Talent Coordination
Liaise with external vendors, staffing agencies, and technical suppliers.
Maintain a strong network of reliable freelance crew and specialists.
Negotiate rates and manage crew contracts and agreements.
Budget & Cost Control
Develop and manage crew budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Track crew-related expenses, including overtime, travel, accommodation, and per diems.
Approve timesheets and ensure accurate payroll processing.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all crew adhere to safety regulations and production protocols.
Manage risk assessments and ensure compliance with local labor laws and union requirements (if applicable).
Maintain proper documentation, certifications, and insurance coverage where required.
Onsite Management
Act as the primary point of contact for crew during live events and broadcasts.
Troubleshoot staffing issues, last-minute changes, and emergencies in real time.

Requirements
Experience
5+ years of experience in production management, crew coordination, or line production in broadcast, sports, or live events.
Proven track record managing large-scale live productions or sports broadcasts.
Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations.
Deep understanding of production workflows and crew roles.
Proficiency in scheduling and production management tools.
Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with broadcast equipment, live production setups, and technical crew functions.
Understanding of OB (Outside Broadcast) operations is highly advantageous.
Other Requirements
Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to travel as required for events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in international sports events or large-scale live shows.
Existing network of freelance crew and vendors.
Knowledge of union regulations (where applicable).
Degree or diploma in Media Production, Broadcasting, or related field.
