Leveraging Sony’s world-leading sensor technology, Pentas Vision is exploring the integration of AI and advanced sensing in the field of embodied robotics. We are looking for a motivated AI Research Intern to support ongoing research projects in simulation and real-world robotics, helping us validate new sensors and algorithms in embodied AI tasks. 

This position is ideal for students who are passionate about robotics, multimodal perception, and simulation, and who want to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge embodied intelligence research. 

What you will be doing: 

• Research Exploration: Contribute to research on embodied AI algorithms, focusing on how multimodal sensing (vision, tactile, IMU, event-based, etc.) can enhance robotic intelligence. 

• Sensor-Algorithm Integration: Collaborate with the team to incorporate sensor signals into learning frameworks, studying their effect on control, manipulation, and perception. 

• Simulation Studies: Design and conduct experiments in simulation platforms (e.g., MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet) to evaluate and benchmark embodied AI approaches. 

• Sim-to-Real Transfer: Support investigations into transferring policies from simulation to physical robots, including analyzing sim2real gaps. 

What you should have:  

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with focus on AI, robotics, or embodied intelligence. 

• Solid understanding of deep learning architectures, with exposure to reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or embodied intelligence. 

• Knowledge of multimodal perception and sensor fusion (e.g., vision + tactile, vision + IMU). 

• Hands-on experience in integrating sensors or working with robotic hardware / ROS pipelines (e.g., data synchronization, calibration, basic debug of hardware–software stack). 

• Experience with at least one simulation framework (e.g., MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet). 

• Proficiency in Python, with familiarity in PyTorch or TensorFlow. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 

• Strong communication skills. 

Preferred Skills 

• Publications in relevant conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CoRL, RSS, CVPR/ICCV) or strong research project record in embodied AI / robotics. 

• Participation in robotics competitions / AI challenges or demonstrable open-source contributions related to robotics/embodied AI.

We are looking for a motivated AI researcher intern to support research and development in image enhancement and next-generation sensor algorithms. This role is ideal for students eager to gain hands-on experience with modern imaging technologies and AI-based image restoration techniques. 

What you will be doing 

• Support the research and development of image enhancement algorithms, including denoising, deblurring, super-resolution, low-light enhancement, and HDR. 

• Explore and evaluate state-of-the-art AI models, including diffusion-based and deep learning–based restoration methods. 

• Assist in prototyping and validating algorithms for advanced image sensor concepts. 

• Perform experiments, analyze results, and prepare technical summaries and visualizations of image quality improvements. 

• Work with real sensor data to test algorithms and contribute to proof-of-concept (PoC) development.

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to enhance sensor capabilities on mobile platforms and develop high-performance algorithms optimized for mobile devices.

What you will be doing:

• General encapsulation and optimization of the underlying framework; ensure the stability and efficiency of the underlying framework SDK, making it cross-platform and optimized for specific platforms.
• Skilled in co-design of algorithms and software, with experience in optimizing computer vision algorithms on mobile platforms, including both traditional and deep learning approaches.
• Responsible for the creation and optimization of engineering algorithm strategies; design and implementation of engineering algorithm strategies for industry businesses based on the algorithm SDK; optimize engineering algorithm strategies for different application scenarios.

Technical direction: Image Restoration & Enhancement

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Researcher to lead cutting-edge research and applications in image restoration and enhancement, transforming academic innovations into real-world products. 

What you will be doing: 

• Research and develop state-of-the-art image processing algorithms, including but not limited to multi-frame fusion, denoising, deblurring, low-light enhancement, super-resolution, and HDR. 

• Develop, optimize, and deploy image quality algorithms to enhance imaging performance based on sensor data. 

• Design and implement algorithmic solutions using multimodal sensor data, and conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) development and validation. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the successful integration of algorithms into products and services.  

What you should have:  

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with a focus on AI, computer vision, or image processing. 

• Strong knowledge of image processing and computer vision, with expertise in designing computationally efficient algorithms for mobile platforms.
