Key Responsibilities

Electricians perform a variety of tasks to ensure electrical systems function safely and efficiently. Their duties typically include:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment 
• To plan installations and repairs. 
• Inspecting electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, or the need for maintenance. 
• Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions using testing devices. 
• Ensuring compliance and safety regulations. 
• Maintain safe and efficient operation of electrical system and providing cost estimates for repairs or installation.   
• Performing physically demanding tasks, climbing ladders. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Interface Management: Coordinate and manage the interfaces between trackwork and other engineering disciplines, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Project Coordination: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of trackwork projects, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with trackwork interfaces, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes for trackwork, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, addressing any issues related to trackwork interfaces.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including interface management plans, interface control documents, risk assessments, and progress reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all trackwork activities comply with relevant standards, LTA requirements and best practices.

Primary Objectives of Position

• Oversee and manage all maintenance activities within the depot and workshop
• Ensure the availability and reliability of passenger trains, engineering train vehicles, light rail vehicles, and workshop or plant equipment
• Control and monitor the section’s budget expenditure
• Ensure all defects in vehicles and equipment are rectified promptly, safely, and effectively
• Provide technical support to other Rolling Stock sections, including developing and managing maintenance plans, work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation, as well as reporting performance data
• Ensure all Rolling Stock staff and contractors are properly trained, competent, and able to perform their duties safely within the railway environment
• Take overall responsibility for corrective and preventive maintenance of passenger trains, engineering trains, light rail vehicles, and depot plant equipment
• Lead and oversee all engineering projects related to Rolling Stock

Report to Project Manager

• Supervise group of workers to carry out site work in accordance to construction schedule.
• Ensure smooth progress of site works
• Report all issues concerned on site works
• Assist to identify any environmental health irregularities and recommend measures
• To responsible for all others related or ad-hoc duties as and when directed
• Liaise with subcontractors and relevant authorities
