A Construction Director holds a senior-level position responsible for
overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget
. They manage large teams, set strategic objectives, negotiate contracts with vendors, and report on progress to clients and company executives. Key responsibilities include:
- Project Oversight: Managing multiple, large-scale projects from initiation through to completion.
- Budgeting & Financials: Establishing budget estimates, approving costs, and delivering projects within financial constraints.
- Strategic Planning: Planning schedules, delegating tasks to senior teams, and ensuring compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicating with clients, engineers, architects, and sub-contractors to resolve technical issues and manage expectations.
- Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks, including legal issues and logistical challenges.
Core Responsibilities and Daily Duties
- Strategic Decision Making: Setting the project's vision, overseeing funding sources, and making critical decisions on project viability.
