This growth oriented position will have the primary responsibility of providing the full range of fund administration services to Hedge Funds. This individual will be responsible for understanding and applying current accounting principles to the accounting and financial reporting of funds and for reviewing transaction and valuation information.  A partial list of responsibilities and skills includes:

Core Requirements (Both Levels)

• Strong grounding in accounting and fund accounting principles
• Experience in NAV preparation, reconciliations, and period-end processes
• Exposure to diversified fund structures (e.g. PE, RE, Hedge, or multi-asset funds)
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, and meet tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and good documentation discipline
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Value-Added Experience

• Experience handling Japanese (JP) clients, or working with Japan-based stakeholders
• Direct client-facing experience, including emails/calls and day-to-day queries
• Prior involvement in audit coordination with auditors
• Exposure to financial statement preparation (statutory or investor reporting)
• Involvement in audit processes (internal and/or external), including audit queries and support

Based out of our Malaysian office, the successful candidate will:

• Review and conduct AML/KYC/PEP and Sanction Checks investigating sanction alerts and adverse media.
• Conduct High Risk payment, Relationship Management Agreement (RMA) and transaction monitoring reviews, and investigate potential issues arising
• Perform day-to-day compliance activity to support the business i.e. compliance approvals, escalations, alerts
• Assist with the Compliance Monitoring Process, carrying out testing and quality control checks as required.
• Work with the global Compliance Team to develop, implement, and monitor the applicable Compliance Monitoring Plans (CMP) to ensure appropriate controls are developed, monitored and updated to reflect changing regulatory and industry requirements.
• Enhance management reporting and assist in the periodic reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), the Compliance Committee, Board of Directors, Senior Management and the parent company.
• Assist in annual policy and procedure reviews highlighting any potential areas of improvement.
• Assist with developing and providing compliance training to employees.
• Support regulatory data enhancement projects as they arise.
• Keep abreast of all relevant regulatory developments.
• Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required.

MUFG Investor Services IT team is looking for a talented Application Support Analyst who will be responsible for supporting banking applications such as Flexcube, SWIFT, our MUFG Automated Payment System, Global Payment System, MUFG Pay Stream and MUFG FX, in addition to integrated banking products.

You ideally have experience working with banking solutions. You will be responsible for the delivery of internal operations & support, interacting with external vendors, and be part of an internal team managing a portfolio of both in-house and vendor applications. You will play a crucial role of linking the business teams and the IT solutions group.

You Will:

• Play a key role as part of a global support team covering the IT Core banking applications (Flexcube, FX Market Rates, Appian workflows, SWIFT, MUFG Automated Payment System, MUFG Global Payment System).
• Provide Level 2 Incident & Problem Management support by working with vendors &/or Internal support teams to resolve technical and user issues during product migration and BAU.
• Coordinate with vendor and/or Support teams for various technical deliverables including Customization Deliveries, Patch sets, fixes.
• Document IT user procedures in Confluence around IT Change Management & business user procedures while effectively supporting user training.
• Support Project Managers in ongoing initiatives related to the Core Banking Solutions.
• Interact with vendors of financial systems about technical issues and the coordination of enhancements.
• Participate in new platform releases, as well as testing activities to confirm system changes, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring they meet quality standards before deployment.
• Coordinate development and enhancement of the platforms to increase automation and expand the utilization of features.
• Internal co-ordination between distinct internal IT functions and groups to ensure high quality service delivery and total ownership of issues to complete resolution.
• Examinations and Audits - Respond to requirement from regulators and auditors to provide appropriate support for information requests.

• Act as a client’s main point of contact throughout the onboarding process, ensuring productive rapport is established.
• Project manage the onboarding of new client/fund launches and conversions.
• Coordinate hand off from Sales Team to Client Integration Team.
• Prepare administration agreements (based on existing templates) and ensure same are presented, reviewed and signed off by appropriate parties.
• Act as a subject matter expert on internal MUFG systems across traditional, hedge and private equity mandates.
• Work as part of a team on large onboarding projects.
• Liaising with banks, auditors, brokers, custodians and internal organizational groups such as compliance and MOV to ensure smooth set-up of communication channels, accounts, systems, due diligence.
• Provide expertise, direction and leadership to members of the operations team.
• Perform and review internal accounting and shareholder service system set-ups.
• Respond to clients ensuring superior customer service is provided.
• Work well with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth on-boarding of new funds.
• Aid other organizational efforts / initiatives as required to support the roll out of new products and banking services.
• Ensure full compliance with ISAE/SOC standards relating to the onboarding or conversion of new funds.
• Ensure internal checklists are completed and signed off.

This is a vital role in ensuring MFS can calculate independent Net Asset Values of investment funds. A Fund of Funds Genesis Portfolio Operations (FOF) Senior Associate will operate and oversee reconciliation and NAV review technology to deliver a full reconciled gross Net Asset Value to client operations teams or clients, including cash, positions and receivables.

An FOF Senior Associate will have a strong understanding of what drives the value of an investment fund, the types of products it trades and the nature of day to day operations between an investment fund and its counterparties, all alongside a keen interest in learning new technologies and skills.

• Operate & oversee reconciliation technology to deliver a fully reconciled gross NAV to the client operations team including cash, position and receivables – holdbacks
• Review work of Junior Staff, provide guidance and mentoring.
• Work closely with our FOF operations team to ensure trade processing is complete, corporate actions have been booked correctly & pricing is accurate
• Work hand in hand with our client operations team to provide superior customer service to hedge fund managers and investors
• Ownership, management and resolution of all internal queries
