• Various life-saving appliances and fire-fighting appliances must be installed, inspected, maintained, and repaired aboard ships while adhering to SOLAS and class rules.
• In accordance with manufacturer instructions and legal requirements, perform routine testing and inspections of lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other firefighting apparatus.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, finding and fixing technical problems quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain and certify LSA/FFA equipment annually while following safety regulations and industry best practices.
• For the sake of regulatory compliance, keep thorough records of all maintenance operations, inspections, and repairs.
• Work together with marine engineers, ship workers, and other interested parties to guarantee the safe and dependable operation of firefighting and life-saving systems aboard ships.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in the maritime sector as an LSA/FFA Technician or a comparable position.
• Competent knowledge of SOLAS norms, class regulations, and other pertinent maritime standards.
• Exceptional technical abilities and practical expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, and related gear.
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills, including the ability to quickly identify and fix equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for escalated technical issues related to high-speed engine systems; perform root cause analysis and coordinate solutions with engineering and product teams.

• Provide remote and onsite technical support to customers across the APAC region and participate in technical meetings, audits, and reviews.

• Coordinate service activities for field service engineers, including job assignments, resource planning, and technical preparation.

• Plan and coordinate engine test bed activities with workshop teams and assign engineers accordingly.

• Support sales and project teams in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) preparation for tenders and project delivery.

• Identify technical competency gaps within the service team and business partners; develop and deliver structured training programs with the Engine Academy.

• Mentor and coach service engineers to enhance diagnostic skills, technical expertise, and customer communication.

• Maintain service competency records, skill matrices, and certification status for regional service staff.

• Investigate recurring technical issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Develop service documentation such as reports, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and technical bulletins.

• Monitor service KPIs and training outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

• Travel regionally and internationally as required.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).

• 6–10 years of experience in technical service or field support, preferably in marine, energy, or high-speed engine industries.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.

• Good coordination, communication, and technical documentation skills.

• Experience in training, mentoring, or developing service engineers.

• Familiarity with remote diagnostics, digital service tools, and service quality frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and test diesel engine components including cylinder heads, fuel pumps, turbochargers, pistons, and connecting rods.
• Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly tasks in accordance with technical drawings, service manuals, and job instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by managing tools properly and adhering to 5S standards.
• Work closely with quality inspectors to identify, address, and resolve any non-conformities.
• Take part in toolbox meetings, job safety analyses, and team discussions on work progress and safety matters.
• Travel to customer sites, vessels, shipyards, and offshore locations as required, following all site-specific safety and access procedures.

• Preparing, arranging, coordinating, and monitoring their assigned projects along with drawings and plan according to the projects' requirements.
• Monitoring classifications, standards, rules, and practices suitable to the projects' requirements.
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with marine sector clients to ensure technical expertise and support throughout the sales process.
• Collaborate with local businesses to get necessary permits, approvals, and documentation for regional sales activities.

• Coordinating materials and assisting with logistics, shipment, and receipt parts/equipment.
• Monitor and follow-up with Head Office on engine shipment documentation and engine delivery schedule to guarantee timely delivery in accordance with contract specifications.
• Liaise with Head Office and suppliers for paperwork.
• Provide technical solutions and answers to customers' installation and technical concerns.
• Organize, collate, and prepare detailed mechanical (2D or 3D formats) electrical designs for customers to follow their specifications
• To complete any other tasks specified by the Project Manager, including Conferences, exhibitions, and technical meetings
• Prepare a quote and other requested documents for sales managers.

Requirements:

• A minimum of three years' experience in projects, and applications engineering or technical support in the maritime sector.
• Expertise in project management, handling, and implementation.
• Successfully managed technical and commercial projects from start to finish preferably involving shipyards, vessel owners, or original equipment manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, CAD or SolidWorks.
