Job Description: Technical Manager – Gas & Chemical Systems (Semiconductor Projects)
Location: Singapore/India / Project Sites
Reporting To: Engineering Director / Managing Director
Role Overview
The Technical Manager will lead the design, engineering, and installation of ultra-high purity (UHP) gas and chemical delivery systems for semiconductor, photovoltaic (PV), and advanced manufacturing projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on project experience, and leadership capability to deliver world-class solutions aligned with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Engineering
Lead the detailed design and engineering of gas and chemical systems, including:
Bulk gas systems
Specialty gas delivery systems
Chemical distribution systems
UHP piping and distribution networks
Prepare and review:
P&IDs, layout drawings, isometrics, and schematics
Material specifications and equipment selection
Ensure designs comply with project specifications, safety requirements, and international standards.
2. Project Execution & Installation
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of gas and chemical systems at site.
Provide technical guidance to site teams, contractors, and vendors.
Ensure projects are delivered with high quality, safety, and within schedule.
Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning.
3. Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards, such as:
SEMI standards (S2, S6, etc.)
NFPA (e.g., NFPA 55, NFPA 318)
ASME, ANSI, and relevant local regulations
Drive safety-first engineering practices in all project phases.
4. Vendor & Client Interface
Interface with clients, consultants, OEMs, and vendors for technical discussions and approvals.
Support technical proposals, bid evaluations, and cost optimization.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and client meetings.
5. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor engineering and site teams.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (BD, procurement, QA/QC, operations).
Build and strengthen technical capabilities within the organization.
Key Requirements
Education
Experience
6–10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or high-tech industries.
Proven experience in design, engineering, and installation of gas & chemical systems.
Hands-on experience in UHP systems and cleanroom environments is essential.
