Charis Methodist Church is looking for a Lay Ministry Staff for Church #School Ministry.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES: Key Result Areas (KRAs)

1)     Support Sunday School by providing direction and coordination, including integration with DisciplePath##_msocom_2;

2)     Review curriculum yearly and initiate the development of new curriculum (if required). Develop lesson plans and resources for relevant age groups as required (18 months to 12 years old);

3)     Training of teachers;

4)     Teaching in Sunday School and other relevant groups;

5)     Transitioning graduating children to JXS (Youth Ministry) in their Christian growth;

6)     Plan and coordinate outreach events;

7)     Pastoral care for the Sunday School children and teachers.

8)     Plan ministry retreats for the Sunday School teachers and core team members

9)     Plan parenting courses for parents with children aged 18 months to 12 years old.

The Sunday School Ministry Staff will work with the following persons:

1)     Pastor-In-Charge and any other pastor tasked to oversee Sunday School

2)     Sunday School Superintendent in supporting the Sunday School programmes

3)     Sunday School teachers.

Other Committees and Involvement

1. Member of LCEC – attend all LCEC and LC meetings, submit reports as required
2. Church Camp/ related Ministry Retreats, etc.
3. Conference level involvement (as and when required by PIC and LCEC).

Personal Development

1. Dialogue with PIC and Sunday School superintendent for feedback and to review progress of work
2. Identify areas for personal development either in current ministry or future areas of responsibilities
3. Build competencies and capabilities through attending training, reading, reflection, OJT, mentoringetc.

Any other duties assigned by the PIC and LCEC according to exigencies of service.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role handles accounts-related duties and administrative tasks.

Accounts Matters:

1. Process vendor enquiries and timely payments.
2. Process claims/reimbursement and weekly collections monies (offerings, donations) and deposit into bank.
3. Assist accountants & auditors on accounts/audit matters.
4. Filing and keeping of records (payment vouchers, receipts, bills, bank statements etc).
5. Assist in Financial and Management Reporting.

General Admin Matters:

1. Record staff meeting on rotation basis.
2. Coordinate and work with related parties relating to Membership Classes & Special Sunday Services.
3. Assist ministry leaders / members with photocopying matters.
4. Procurement of office stationery & church use items.
5. Handle mails, phone calls and walk-in enquiry.
6. Assist and support in any other church administrative work as and when required by supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative organization skills
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
3. Familiar with Google Drive, Sharepoint and other cloud-based systems for file-sharing and collaboration.
4. Team-player

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role supports Mandarin Worship (MW) & ministry work and handling administrative tasks.

MW Service Support

1. Prepare MW Sunday bulletin and print hard copies.
2. Compile MW bulletin announcements and convert them into MP4 with music. Prepare Worship Powerpoint Slides (with MP4 inserted into the 1st slide) and print a copy of the PPT slides for worship songs and song of response.
3. Upload Items 1 – 3 and sermon PPT onto MW Google Drive by the deadline given.
4. Do simple translation of announcements and other communications from English to Mandarin and vice versa, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
5. Liaise with MW Speakers (on matters such as arrangement of parking lot/ sermon PPT slides/ brief self-introduction, response songs etc).    
6. Collaborate with Church Manager to arrange honorarium for MW Speakers.            
7. Send out Worship reminders and other information as needed via WhatsApp Channel.
8. Attend staff meeting every Tuesday afternoon.
9. Any other work as assigned by PIC, MW ordained pastor and MW Working Committee
10. Send out greeting cards to MW members.*

Ad-hoc Admin Matters:*

1. Record staff meeting on rotation basis.

3. Assist in any other church administrative work as and when required by supervisor.

Requirements:
