Job Description

The Signature Research Programme in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders houses state-of-the-art technologies for profiling mitochondrial function and metabolic adaptations in human patients and other model organisms, and undertakes translational and clinical research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.

Dr Zhou Jin’s research focuses on molecular pharmacology to understand the mechanisms underlying disease, particularly dysregulation in mitochondrial function, autophagy, protein synthesis, and the activation of inflammation and fibrosis, with a strong emphasis on metabolic liver diseases. Her work integrates cell and molecular biology with preclinical disease models, alongside approaches such as transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genetic analyses. Through these multidisciplinary strategies, her research aims to uncover novel molecular mechanisms of disease and support the development of new therapeutic strategies and potential treatment agents.

The selected candidate will perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following: -

• Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project.
• Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and/or research findings.
• Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations or written reports/ scientific manuscripts/literature for publication and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
• Assist researchers in contributing to some aspects of the project management, occasional laboratory demonstrations and in providing guidance to undergraduate/medical students.
• Establish work procedures to maintain high efficiency and productivity of the laboratory.
• Assist with general upkeep of laboratory needs, maintain safety protocols, provide technical support and establish work procedures to ongoing research projects.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences/Life Sciences with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the design and conduct of experimental projects.

What we are looking for:

The fundamentals:

• 3–7 years of experience in data analysis, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech or a high-growth startup environment.
• Expert-level SQL; comfortable with Python or R for more advanced modelling and automation.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools — Tableau preferred.
• Deep understanding of Revenue and GTM metrics: Leads, CVR, ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn rate, pipeline velocity, win rates, Channel attribution and performance metrics.
• Ability to translate messy, incomplete data into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

The EOS invites applications for a Research Fellow (RF) position to work on a new project as part of the Marine Climate Change Science (MCCS) Programme with the National Parks Board Singapore. This 4-year project hosted by EOS aims to quantify historical, modern and future sedimentation in Singapore’s coastal habitats and involves a variety of field, laboratory and desk-based analyses to achieve the project deliverables.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and helping lead a sediment monitoring programme involving the use of surface elevation table and sediment plate monitoring equipment to provide empirical measurements of vertical accretion from selected sites including mangrove forests, intertidal mudflats and seagrass meadows.

Experience sampling coastal sediments for laboratory analyses including particle grain size, organic carbon and developing geochronologies will also be beneficial. Applicants with skills using remote sensing techniques such as LiDAR to monitor sediment transport and dynamics are also welcomed. The collected datasets will be used to calibrate numerical models that simulate future changes in sediment budgets from climate and coastal development scenarios and to support resilient coastal ecosystem management decisions.

The successful applicant will work collectively within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists at EOS and colleagues at NTU helping to produce scientific output for reports, publications, and conference presentations. This project will also work closely with an industry partner in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

Role Overview
You will lead development of the algorithms and architectures that enable our robots to interact with and reason about the physical world. This role bridges world model research, embodied AI, and real-time robotics. You will engineer models and learning systems that power robotic agents through real world jobs.

Responsibilities

• Train and adapt large-scale VLA & VLMs that predict multi-modal futures (video, proprioception, audio, actions)
• Develop systems for cross-modal grounding, enabling robots to interpret sensor data in context and build coherent world models
• Enable temporal reasoning and goal-directed behavior through hierarchical task decomposition and meta-reasoning
• Support human-robot interaction by recognizing intentions, interpreting social cues, and enabling collaborative workflows
• Deploy models into real-time humanoid and mobile robots
• Evaluate and scale pipelines to measure generalization and safety
• Collaborate with locomotion, simulation and hardware teams to bridge sim-to-real transfer
• Publish and open source datasets, models, papers in parallel

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, AI/Computer Science, or related field
• Proficiency in Python and C++, and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch / JAX)
• Deep experience in GenAI, RL/IL, control, or multimodal learning
• Understanding of scaling laws, evaluation metrics, and scaling training for large models
• Familiarity with real-robot systems, sensing, and embedded control integration
• Familiarity with industry SOTA and latest research, e.g. Gr00t, Pi0, etc

Bonus Skills

• Experience with transformer-based control policies or diffusion policy learning.

The Role
We’re looking for a Distributed Systems Engineer to architect and scale the infrastructure that powers fleets of humanoid robots operating across the world. You will work across the full stack of robotics infrastructure, from low-latency streaming and cloud simulation to large-scale training and telemetry pipelines. You’ll work directly with the founders and technical leadership to design the systems that let hundreds of robots learn, share, and act as one.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and scale distributed systems that handle petabytes of sensory, telemetry, and control data across cloud and edge environments.
• Design data ingestion and streaming pipelines connecting fleets of robots to the cloud in real time (video, LiDAR, joint states, audio).
• Build large-scale training and inference platforms for multimodal foundation models powering robot autonomy and teleoperation.
• Collaborate with ML and Robotics engineers to support hardware-in-the-loop simulation, policy rollout, and continuous learning.
• Develop internal observability systems for fleet monitoring, reliability, and performance tuning.
• Lead infrastructure decisions — from distributed storage and consensus protocols to GPU orchestration and network reliability.

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep expertise in distributed systems, networking, or data infrastructure.
• Proven ability to build and operate production-grade distributed systems handling massive scale and mission-critical workloads.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, C++, or Python, with strong fundamentals in concurrency, networking, and systems performance.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka, S3, Ray, or similar frameworks).
• Strong understanding of data consistency, replication, and fault tolerance across heterogeneous environments.
• Experience with GPU-based workloads, model training, or edge compute orchestration is a strong plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and a bias toward building fast, measurable, and reliable systems.

Bonus Points

• Experience building distributed training or large-scale simulation systems.
• Familiarity with real-time robotics workloads, including streaming from physical sensors and actuators.
