Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the procurement strategy to support the company’s operation in trade exhibitions, event and conference management and venue maintenance. The role ensures cost-effective sourcing, timely delivery, and compliance with internal and external policies, directly impacting the success and profitability of events.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for all procurement categories supporting exhibition, events, conference and venue maintenance.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure service reliability and cost competitiveness.

Contract Negotiation & Management

• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and vendors to achieve favourable terms.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with agreed SLAs.

Cost Optimization

• Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved service delivery.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Ensure procurement activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, including supplier due diligence.
• Maintain documentation and records for audits and quality assurance.

Team & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate cross-functionally with event managers, marketing, and finance to align procurement activities with project needs.
• Manage and mentor any junior procurement staff or coordinators.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Drive procurement process improvements and automation where feasible.
• Provide regular reports on procurement performance, savings achieved, and supplier performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Proven experience in the MICE industry is highly preferred.
• Strong vendor negotiation skills and experience managing multi-million-dollar procurement budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to manage procurement for multiple simultaneous projects with tight deadlines.

Skills:

• Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and vendor management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Procurement Manager will lead the strategic sourcing and operational procurement of critical high-precision components and materials essential for semiconductor equipment manufacturing. You will manage a global supply chain to support UMS’s role as a leading integrated OEM for front-end chip-making equipment. You also will be responsible for ensuring a stable supply of raw materials (e.g., aluminium, steel) and specialized components while optimizing costs and maintaining rigorous quality standards required for the semiconductor and aerospace industries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, precision engineering, or semiconductors.

• Proven track record in managing global supply chains and negotiating with international mills.

• Proficiency in Epicor and Microsoft BC365 

• Advanced knowledge of raw material markets (e.g., LME aluminium pricing).

• Strong negotiation, analytical mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Finance teams.

Procurement & Contract Management

• Co-guide the procurement team with Head, Administration & Procurement

• Responsible for development and implementation of procurement framework and workflow

• Perform timely execution of procurement activities (SVP, ITQ, ITT) and approval submissions to achieve optimal Procure-to-Pay (P2P) results

• Generate tender documents, contract drafts, and purchase orders in accordance to procurement policies and guidelines 

• Facilitate negotiation, evaluation and review of sourcing and tender submissions with relevant stakeholders and evaluation committees

• Conduct market research and engage industries to understand market supply conditions

• Maintain proper contract management in preparation for sourcing or tender process  

• Manage business relationships with suppliers including contract management, negotiations and performance review

• Provide advice and consultation to all divisions on procurement and contract management policies and procedures to align procurement plans with overall procurement strategy and resources to achieve intended outcomes

• Assist in coordinating and managing audit requests for both internal and external audits.

• Responsible for contract creation and purchase order fulfilment in ERP system

• Ensure compliance to procurement procedures are adhered

• Render guidance and assistance to the team

Facilities Management (FM)

• Oversee the subcontracted FM team and ensure office premises in working condition

• Monitor subcontractor’s service level performance and actively review the monthly FM reports and meetings

Other Duties

• To co-mentor and guide the Administration & Procurement team so as to enhance the overall competency of staff to adapt and engage in the daily operational needs

• To perform any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer
