On behalf of our client, a leading German multinational company specializing in adhesive products, we are seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position at their state-of-the-art development laboratory in Singapore.
Lead / Technology Developer (Polymer Chemistry)
Position Overview:
Drive the development of new and improved key technology building blocks within a broader and more complex requirement framework while systematically expanding knowledge within their sub technology field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate, perform and support key developments of products, materials, processes, technology modules and methods within the framework of feasibility studies, business cases and/or projects, incl. experimental work and coordination of lab, pilot or production trials.
• Continuously ensure and drive the development of knowledge within sub technology field (width & depth).
• Contribute to and initiate invention disclosures.
• Perform literature and patent searches in consultation with the related responsible persons, support FTO analysis from a technological perspective.
• Provide input to the relevant Technology Roadmap(s) while making investment recommendations for technology development.
• Actively build up and maintain internal and external networks, with the focus on technological aspects incl. scouting and screening of new raw materials (e.g. suppliers, institutions, academia).
• Support recruiting and technical guidance of students or apprentices.
Education & Experience:
• PhD degree in Science or Engineering discipline or Master degree in Science or Engineering discipline with at least 3 years of experience preferably as polymer chemist with focus on polymerize and formulate new adhesive solutions.
• Experience in manufacturing processes of polymeric films, nanostructured surfaces and functional layers (e.g. organic solutions and dispersions).
• Work with solvents and flammable and toxic materials.
• Work in chemical labs (preferably in clean room environment).
• Use of analytical lab equipment for material property determination (e.g. rheology and microscopy).
• Preferably work experience with adhesives or pressure sensitive adhesives.
