THE ROLE

You will be part of the Planning and Development team, providing engineering expertise across the design, construction, and commissioning phases of the new Medical Tower. You will represent the hospital's technical interests throughout the design and construction of the new Tower - ensuring that what is designed and built on the institution's behalf meets clinical requirements, regulatory standards, and operational needs before the building is handed over.

The responsibilities of this role are:

1.  Design Review & Technical Compliance

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and submissions from consultants and contractors to verify compliance with clinical requirements, Singapore building codes, and international healthcare standards.
• Identify technical gaps or discrepancies in design submissions and work with consultants to resolve them before works proceed on site.
• Ensure all building systems and infrastructure - including ACMV, medical gas, fire protection, infection control ventilation, structural works, drainage, and site civil infrastructure - are designed to meet the operational requirements of a high-acuity hospital environment.

2.  Construction Oversight & Site Coordination

• Attend site inspections and technical meetings to monitor the installation and construction of systems and works against approved drawings, specifications, and the master programme.
• Review and assess requests for information (RFIs), site queries, and variation orders, providing timely technical responses to keep the programme on track.

Job Responsibilities:

• Planning and scheduling of projects
• To manage M&E construction projects and to monitor the projects are carried out with respect to the target schedule
• To handle design for Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation System and to ensure clients' requirements are met
• To attend project meeting and to coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors and sub-contractors
• Preparation of Progress Claim, Materials Submission, Risk Assessment, Progress Report, Shop Drawings & As Built Drawings for projects
• To forecast and anticipate possible issue for projects and to eliminate potential risks
• Site supervision and to liaise with supervisors and workers to ensure smooth work flow
• Planning of manpower and work arrangement with site person in charge
• To liaise with suppliers on procurement and delivery of materials and equipment
• Assist in settlement of project final account including variation orders

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Higher secondary/Pre-U/A level/College
• At least 2 Year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Preferably Engineer specialized in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent.
• Energetic, self-motivated, good problem-solving skills.
• Willing to learn, positive attitude.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drawing is preferred.

  • Design, develop and implement processes, equipment, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing of new/redesign products

  • Support new product development (ADP, PDP) with manufacturing expertise especially in Overmold

  • Transfer new/redesign/VAVE programs to production

  • Plan project manufacturing process tasks

  • Develop and establish work instructions, routing, and workmanship standards

  • Install and commission new equipment

  • Track & manage CAPEX spending within the allocated budget

  • Meet Departmental goals on Cost, Responsiveness & Quality objectives 

• Degree Holder in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Production/Manufacturing Engineering Minimum of 12 years of working experience, with 8 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Process
