Assistant Fund Accounting Manager

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Fund Accounting Manager to join our Fund Accounting team. In this role, you will support the Fund Accounting Team Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of fund accounting services across our hedge fund and private equity fund client base.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical fund accounting knowledge, solid NAV preparation and review experience across open-ended and closed-ended fund structures, and the readiness to roll up their sleeves when needed. This is not a purely supervisory role — we are looking for someone equally comfortable reviewing work and diving into complex fund structures, new client take-ons, and peak-period support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Fund Accounting Team Manager in day-to-day team management and oversight across hedge fund and private equity fund mandates

• Familiarity with hedge fund instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, OTC derivatives, short positions) and/or private equity accounting concepts (e.g., capital calls, distributions, waterfall calculations, carried interest)

• Hands-on approach with the willingness to step into detailed operational work when required

• Experience handling new fund launches, fund migration, client onboardings, and/or complex fund structures is advantageous

Purpose

Accountabilities

• This position is designed for an individual based in Singapore with a strong understanding of business and financial processes and controls, sound knowledge of the audit process, good analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• We are seeking a self-motivated candidate with strong project management and audit execution skills, and effective communication and presentation abilities when engaging with senior management.
• In addition, this person should be able to multitask, collaborate beyond their immediate department, and influence organizational objectives or support the achievement of organizational goals.
• This person is required to travel regularly (up to 30%) as part of the role, supporting audit activities across key regions including APAC, EMEA, and LATAM.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute all phases of the audit lifecycle independently—from planning and fieldwork to reporting and follow-up.
• Identify operational and financial risks, control gaps and opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.
• Leverage use of data analytics in conducting in-depth audit testing and deliver data-driven observations and insights to the business.
• Develop continuous risk monitoring strategies and collaborate with Data Scientists to build monitoring dashboards and data-driven insights.
• Conduct root cause analysis on observations identified and offer actionable recommendations and solutions.
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured audit reports to senior management with a focus on business impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
• Ensure audit activities comply with internal methodologies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies, templates, and best practices to improve audit quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of working experience in internal audit, risk control, or related functions, with a strong focus on operational audits.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment methodologies, and audit practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present audit findings clearly and influence process improvements.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment with competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel for business up to 30%.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, as the role requires frequent communication with Chinese stakeholders in Mandarin-speaking markets.

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Experience in the social media, digital platforms
• High-growth Technology, or other fast-paced industries, preferably within global teams or multinational companies (MNCs).
• Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, Qlik Sense) is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, CICPA, CPA, or CISA are preferred.
• Experience auditing business processes in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
• Experience with audit management systems or GRC tools.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience interacting with senior management.

Job Purpose

This role supports the Finance team during the Company’s SAP migration program by leading and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for finance-related processes within a telecommunications operating environment.

The incumbent ensures that end-to-end telco finance processes—including revenue, payments process, network assets , inventories, master maintenance and shared services — are accurately configured, tested, and validated in the new SAP system, with full compliance to IFRS/SFRS, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

A.SAP UAT Execution (Finance)

• Prepare, execute, and document UAT test scenarios for SAP FICO, SD related processes in a telco context, including:
• Record-to-Report (R2R) – GL postings, journals, month-end close
• Order-to-Cash (O2C) – billing postings, deferred revenue, intercompany
• Asset Accounting – network assets, BTS, fibre, AUC capitalization
• Project Systems integration – capex projects, WBS settlement

• Validate system outputs against real telco transaction flows, contracts, and operational scenarios.

B. Accounting & Financial Validation

Perform parallel run and reconciliation between legacy SAP system (ECC6) and new SAP system (HANA) during UAT cycles.

Validate:

• Revenue postings (recurring charges and all the OTCs)
• Accruals and provisions for network O&M, colocation, and leases
• Capitalization of network assets and project costs
• Depreciation, useful lives, and asset classifications
• Ensure all postings comply with IFRS/SFRS, company accounting policies, and approved process design.

C. Defect Management & Resolution

• Log, track, and prioritize UAT defects with clear financial impact assessment
• Work with SAP consultants (FI/CO, MM, SD) and IT teams to:
• Identify root causes
• Validate fixes
• Perform re-testing and sign-off
• Escalate go-live critical issues to Finance Transformation Lead promptly.

D. Documentation & Audit Readiness

Maintain Complete UAT Evidence packs, including

• Test Scripts and results
• Reconcilation and workings
• Issue logs and resolutions

Support audit walkthroughs and provide evidence for:

• Internal audit
• External auditors
• Steering Committee/Management reviews

Ensure documentation meets audit trail and control expectations

E. Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare Support

Support cutover activities, including:

• Opening balance validation
• Master data verification
• Trial migration reviews

Provide post-go-live hypercare support for finance users.

Assist with handover to BAU finance team and documentation of new processes.

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience

• 1–3 years’ experience in accounting or finance
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI (ECC and/or S/4HANA) will be preferred
• Ability to work under tight project timelines
