We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to lead the build and operationalisation of a robust data management platform across the region. This is a hands-on role suited for someone passionate about designing scalable data infrastructure and delivering reliable, production-grade data pipelines.

Experience with Microsoft Fabric is advantageous, but not required—candidates with strong data engineering fundamentals and a willingness to learn new technologies are encouraged to apply.

Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering

• Design, build, and optimise end-to-end data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from diverse regional.
• Develop scalable and maintainable data ingestion frameworks and processing patterns
• Establish a robust, high-performing data architecture to support analytics and downstream use cases

Data Management, Quality & Governance

• Embed data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring within data pipelines
• Implement and support data governance practices including data lineage, metadata management, and access control (e.g., via tools like Microsoft Purview)
• Define and enforce data ownership, stewardship, and governance standards across the region
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regional data regulations
• Collaborate with global data teams to align on governance frameworks, KPIs, and best practices

• Develop and maintain curated data layers and semantic models to support reporting and analytics needs

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models
• Ensure consistency and standardisation of KPIs and reporting outputs across the region
• Support migration or integration of existing reporting platforms where relevant

Requirements/skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience in building and managing data pipelines and data platforms
• Solid understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data quality best practices

• Develop and maintain enterprise reporting solutions and business intelligence dashboards for insurance operations. 

• Analyze insurance data across policy, claims, underwriting, customer, finance, actuarial, and regulatory domains. 

• Design and deliver interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Qlik Sense/QlikView, and Tableau.

• Work with Microsoft Fabric components including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, One Lake, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, Notebooks, and Pipelines.

• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, risk, compliance, and technology teams. 

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Reporting. 

• Hands-on experience in to BFSI domain  

• Strong experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Qlik Sense/QlikView, and Tableau. 

•  Strong SQL development skills with experience in query optimization. 

• Good understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, and Data Governance concepts. 

• Experience with Azure Data Services and cloud analytics platforms. 

• Knowledge of KPIs such as GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Combined Ratio, Claims Leakage, Claims Turnaround Time, and Customer Retention Metrics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Screening Optimisation
   Drive the continuous enhancement and optimisation of detection logic and algorithms across financial crime screening processes, including customer onboarding, ongoing customer due diligence, and real-time transaction screening across all operating regions. Balance alert efficiency with comprehensive risk coverage to strengthen financial crime prevention and protect the organisation’s reputation.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Leadership
   Partner closely with internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Technology, Business Units, Legal, Risk, and Operations to lead and support complex initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and integrating new technologies for financial crime prevention. This includes presenting insights, negotiating requirements, and influencing outcomes at a senior level.

3. Advanced Analytics & Solution Development
   Perform in-depth data analysis to identify key performance drivers and emerging financial crime trends. Design, validate, and implement robust analytical models for risk scoring and detection improvement. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for senior management decision-making.

4. Regulatory Assurance & Quality Control
   Ensure strict compliance with audit and regulatory requirements related to financial crime prevention. Drive comprehensive documentation, gap analysis, and proactive risk mitigation. Oversee data validation, cleansing, and quality controls throughout the lifecycle of screening systems and analytical solutions.

5. Agile Solution Delivery
   Champion Agile delivery methodologies by defining requirements, solution design, managing UAT, and overseeing deployment of enhanced screening capabilities. Maintain end-to-end ownership from concept through post-implementation review.

6. Subject Matter Leadership & Innovation
   Act as a Subject Matter Expert for financial crime screening systems, particularly in Sanctions and CDD domains. Provide expert guidance to internal partners and contribute to the strategic direction of the Financial Crime Analytics function by identifying new methodologies, tools, and technologies. Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

7. Performance Reporting & Stakeholder Insights
   Produce regular management reports with actionable insights based on key performance indicators and trend analysis. Provide timely support for ad-hoc analysis and stakeholder queries to support informed business decisions.

Requirements

1. Experience & Foundation

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative or technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science).
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in financial services, consulting, or related industries, with strong exposure to financial crime prevention and analytics.

2. Technical Acumen

• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g. Python, SQL); cloud platform experience is mandatory.
• Exposure to big data technologies and data warehousing solutions is highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to analyse large, complex datasets (millions of records) to derive insights and support strategic decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau).
• Familiarity with financial crime detection and screening platforms.

3. Analytical & Strategic Mindset

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
