Job Description:

• Liaise and coordinate with all consultants, contractors, suppliers and local authorities.
• Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of construction works accordance with approved specification, quality and schedule.

About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our mobile app teams at Dyson. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of technical excellence, team development, and stakeholder management.

You will be responsible for driving the delivery of high-quality mobile experiences while building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team. You are equally comfortable contributing to technical discussions, guiding architecture decisions, and working closely with cross-functional partners to deliver impact.

Our Tech
Our mobile apps are built using modern native technologies across Android and iOS, with a strong emphasis on scalability, modular architecture, and maintainability.

On Android, we use Kotlin with MVVM architecture, Jetpack libraries, and coroutines for asynchronous programming. On iOS, we follow modern Swift-based development practices with well-defined architectural patterns.

We integrate with cloud services using robust networking layers and work closely with IoT platforms to deliver seamless connected experiences.

Our teams place a strong emphasis on testing, code quality, and continuous improvement of our development practices and tooling.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and mentoring a team of mobile engineers, supporting their growth, performance, and career development

• Driving delivery of features and improvements, ensuring high standards of quality, scalability, and reliability

• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including product, design, QA, and engineering teams across cloud and embedded domains

• Owning technical direction and contributing to architecture and design decisions

• Remaining hands-on where needed, contributing to code, reviews, and problem-solving

• You have strong experience in native mobile development (Android and/or iOS), with a solid understanding of modern architectures and best practices

• You have experience leading or mentoring engineers, with a focus on building high-performing, collaborative teams

• You are comfortable operating across both technical and people leadership responsibilities

• You have experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and aligning engineering work with product goals

• You bring a pragmatic approach to delivery, balancing speed with quality and long-term sustainability

Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring successful project delivery, governance compliance, operational readiness, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to business requirements.
• Oversee operations, maintenance, and monitoring of systems.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks, including security, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, and stakeholders for audits and quality management activities.
• Drive project management for complex technical initiatives involving cloud platforms, infrastructure planning, and system integration.
• Partner with Product Managers to manage operational aspects of products and support successful implementation through ongoing operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and support system, user acceptance, and security testing activities before release.
• Support the setup, configuration, and adoption of DevOps tools and environments.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, including audit preparation, incident management, and compliance processes.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery while aligning outcomes with organizational objectives.
• Foster strong collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Infocomm Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of Project Management experience.
• Experience participating in full software or product development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Agile project delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in ambiguous environments.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through and execution skills.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, infrastructure projects, and system integration initiatives.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, release management, and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agile Project Management experience.
• Professional certifications such as CITPM, COMIT, PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.
• Experience in Audit, Quality Management Systems (QMS), or Portfolio Management.
• Experience working in Government or Public Sector environments.
• Hands-on experience with Confluence, Jira, and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

·      Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and maturity model for application security across the enterprise.

·      Align application security initiatives with business objectives, compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks.

·      Act as the primary liaison between development teams, security functions, and executive stakeholders.

·      Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Integration

·      Embed security practices into the SDLC, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, and code analysis.

·      Champion DevSecOps principles, ensuring security automation and continuous integration pipelines are robust and scalable.

·      Provide guidance on secure coding standards, frameworks, and best practices.

·      Establish policies, standards, and metrics to measure application security effectiveness.

·      Conduct regular risk assessments and oversee remediation of vulnerabilities.

·      Lead and mentor a team of application security engineers and specialists.

·      Partner with product owners, architects, and developers to balance innovation with security requirements.

·      Build strong relationships with executive leadership to communicate risks, progress, and strategic priorities.

·      Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance application security capabilities.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

·      8+ years of experience in application security, software development, or cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

·      Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, and modern application architectures (cloud-native, microservices, APIs).

·      Hands-on experience with application security tools (SAST, DAST, IAST,RASP, container security).

·      Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive stakeholders.

·      Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
