Job Purpose

Assistant Station Manager works in a fast-paced and customer-facing environment and possesses a service-oriented mindset and pleasant disposition. He is able to multi-task effectively when responding to station operation requirements.

Station Duties

Assistant Station Manager supports the day-to-day station operations. These include preparing the station for rail service, ensuring safety and security of station premises, providing ticketing and fare related services. He/She monitors commuter flow and manages crowds during peak hours and/or during service degradation. He/She will also provide first aid as part of Emergency Response Team when required. He/she also manages access to the station and assists in track access and procession by maintenance teams and/or service providers.

Train Duties

Assistant Station Manager supports day-to-day train operations. These include preparing the Trains for service, conducting safety and security checks, performing first-line recovery of train and equipment malfunctions, and serving as an emergency train operator. He/She will man the Passenger Vehicle (PV), handle PV defects, and drive the PV.

• As an Assistant Station Manager, you will provide excellent customer service to our passengers to make their journey with SMRT a delightful one.
• You will assist in the operation and control of an MRT station, which includes monitoring of station equipment, responding to station emergencies, platform and concourse patrol, and other station related duties.
• You may be tasked to drive our trains in preparation for emergencies.
• You should have a NITEC in an Engineering discipline.
• You will be required to perform rotating shifts, including duties on weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Station Manager is responsible to:

• Man or drive the PV according to duty roster plan and when assigned by supervisors.
• Conducting security patrol in the train and reporting faults and abnormalities discovered
• Handle and process transactions for passenger (e.g. problem cards, upgrades).
• Ensures passenger safety and takes remedial action when necessary (e.g. no overcrowding at escalator landing area).
• Assists passengers in travelling in our system (e.g. purchasing of ticket, ticket problem, giving direction, enquiries on fares etc).
• Assists SM to perform administrative duties (e.g. upkeep logbooks, station files and circulars etc).
• Ensure the opening and closing of the station according to the appropriate timetable.
• Handles all train and station incidents and emergencies (e.g. accident, assault and train related fault/alarm etc).
• Be part of Company Emergency Response Team where one is expected to undergo CERT course
• Responsible for their own as well as their Team’s Safety. Staff shall uphold the CCL Safety Mission and 3 principles to complete tasks, perform duties, fulfil the goals of the organization, and adhere to the individual roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• NITEC/ Higher NITEC with Engineering background.
• Work on three rotating shift including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to differentiate all colours (as not all indicators are accessible).
• Participate in exercises with internal or external agencies when required.
• Experience in frontline customer service working is preferred.

Job Description

The Centre for International Law (CIL) at the National University of Singapore is seeking an expert in ASEAN law and policy to serve as Senior Research Fellow / Principal Research Fellow and Co-Head of its ASEAN Law and Policy Programme. Established in 2009, this flagship programme is a pioneer in research, teaching and capacity-building on ASEAN law and policy. Its signature initiatives include the ASEAN Integration Through Law Book Series by Cambridge University Press and the annual Asean Law and Policy Programme Academy. 

Responsibilities: The Co-Head is expected to:

• Work alongside Professor J.H.H. Weiler to lead and expand the ASEAN Law and Policy Programme.
• Provide research direction, mentorship, and oversight for ongoing and new projects within the programme.
• Develop and implement capacity-building initiatives for ASEAN stakeholders.
• Lead and contribute to research publications, policy papers, and academic outputs.
• Represent CIL and the programme at regional and international conferences, workshops and symposia.

Qualifications

• PhD in International Law with a minimum of 10 years of experience in ASEAN -related research, law and policy work.
• Expertise in international law, regional integration, institutions and dispute settlement.
• An established record of publications in leading academic or policy journals.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, research management and capacity-building.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Design & Development

• Design and develop comprehensive WSQ and non-WSQ courseware, encompassing learner guides, facilitator manuals, and assessment plans, strictly mapped to SSG’s Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs).

• Employ Adult Learning Principles to create engaging, empathetic, and highly effective blended learning experiences.

• Conduct regular curriculum reviews and spearhead updates to ensure content remains highly relevant to industry demands and client capabilities.

2. Quality Management & Compliance

• Oversee the end-to-end quality assurance processes for all WSQ and non-WSQ programmes, ensuring absolute compliance with SSG’s stringent guidelines and audit requirements.

• Formulate and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with the Training Provider Quality Assessment (TPQA) framework.

• Manage the Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) process, maintaining meticulous documentation and evidence for external audits.

• Conduct routine internal audits on training delivery and assessment protocols, providing constructive, actionable feedback to adult educators and assessors.

3. Data-Driven Evaluation & Strategy

• Leverage quantitative and qualitative industry & learner data to formulate actionable recommendations for curriculum enhancement and pedagogical shifts.

• Partner proactively with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their core 'Why', ensuring training outcomes directly resolve their operational and strategic challenges.

4. Scenario Planning & Risk Mitigation

• Monitor shifts in the national training landscape, particularly SSG policy changes or funding adjustments, and develop scenario plans to adapt the organisation's course offerings proactively.

• Anticipate potential friction points in the learner journey or assessment lifecycle, deploying preventative measures to maintain high pass rates and exceptional learner experiences.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Essential Certification: Full Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). A Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP) is highly advantageous.

• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in WSQ curriculum development, instructional design, and quality assurance within a Singapore Approved Training Organisation (ATO).

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Skills Framework (SFw), TP Gateway, and current SSG policies regarding funding and compliance.

• Attributes: Highly analytical with a data-driven mindset, detail-oriented, and equipped with excellent stakeholder management skills. Must possess the ability to communicate complex regulatory frameworks clearly and concisely.

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in built environment or sustainability is an advantage.

• Prepare and maintain detailed construction program with project personnel to establish the plan and document the scope, develop project schedules and or cost estimates.
• Responsible for the maintenance of all essential planning related documentation.
• Manage and maintain close working relationship with project team and contracts department to ensure that works implementation follows to approve master program.
• Lead in the development of timetables and schedules for projects.
• Participate in coordinating with client / consultants during presentation, reporting and updating of schedules or programs.
• Coordinate projects with all affected parties to ensure projects are completed on schedule and government regulations and health and safety requirements are maintained.
• Analyse data and situation, recommends solutions to Management.

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Diploma in Agricultural Engineering and above or equivalent.
• More than 20 years of experience in tender, technical and project.
• Proficient in 4D Programming using Primavera.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Project.
• Able to work as a team and proactive.
