About the Company
Our client is a leading financial institution with a strong regional presence. They are seeking a Legal Counsel for a short 6 months maternity cover to provide legal support across commercial, corporate governance, regulatory, and strategic business matters while helping to manage legal and compliance risks across the organisation.
Responsibilities
Provide timely and practical legal advice on a broad range of commercial, corporate governance, regulatory, and compliance matters. Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain legal documentation including commercial agreements, policies, templates, and standard terms. Develop and implement legal risk management frameworks, policies, and training programmes for internal stakeholders. Monitor and advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance developments, including potential breaches and emerging risks. Stay current on developments within the financial services industry, assessing their impact on the business and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements
You should ideally be a Singapore qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience as Legal Counsel. Strong knowledge of M&A transactions and experience advising on technology-related matters such as software licensing or outsourcing arrangements would have an advantage. You should also possess strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
