Student Outreach, Mentoring and Engagement

The Youth Worker will work with the SDT to conduct proactive student engagement during non-curriculum periods including recess, lunch breaks, and after-school. This involves building positive relationships with primary school students, and creating an inclusive environment that promotes school connectedness. The Youth Worker will observe student interactions and behaviours and support students with socio-emotional needs as identified by the school. The Personnel is to be deployed at the following hours:

·         Mondays to Fridays: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., inclusive of 30 mins lunch break

·         Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

·         Any additional working hours will be compensated by Off-In-Lieu (Time-Off) subject to approval from supervisor.

·         Working hours may vary at times depending on the school’s needs

·         Lunch time of 30 mins must not be used for Time-Off.

Job Scopes:

• Provide administrative support (including reception duties) for the smooth and effective operations of the school’s General Office Reception.

• Handle phone calls, walk-ins and general enquiries from parents, students and members of the public.

• Provide first level assistance to walk-in students’ needs including sick and injured students. Escalate serious cases or those requiring professional medical care to other colleagues in the office immediately. Relay parents' messages and concerns from phone calls or walk-in visits to the relevant teachersManage office stock of stationery, pantry items and first aid supplies.

• Assist in the counting and sorting/ distribution of brochures or leaflets / items to teachers and students.

• Maintain the forms in General Office (ensure forms are current and replenish timely).

• Maintain tidiness of the reception area at all times.

• Prepare correspondence and documents

• Receive and sort mail and deliveries.

• Any other adhoc duties assigned by the School.

Requirements:

• GCE ‘O’ Level

• Pleasant disposition and people-oriented

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

• Relevant Reception / Customer Service experiences

• Prior work experience with students in schools

• Working knowledge of MS Office applications

• Saturdays: 7.30am to 1.30pm

Job Scopes：

• Provide support in general upkeep of Authority compound & equipment;

• Inspect work progress & provide feedback to Operations Managers;

• Accompany MOE Term Contractors for inspections & maintenance/repair works;

• Provide logistical support for Authority events and functions;

• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Operations Managers, Vice-Principals or Principal.

Requirements:

• Able to perform physical tasks and duties required for the role
