The Network Engineer is responsible for managing, implementing, and
supporting enterprise-level network infrastructure across on-premise and hybrid
environments. The role ensures network security, performance, availability, and
compliance with customer operational standards, security policies, and
regulatory requirements.
The Network Engineer provides technical support for enterprise routing, switching,
SD-WAN, and security platforms while maintaining network monitoring,
automation, and operational stability across the enterprise network
environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including routing,
switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN gateways, load balancers, and network
segmentation technologies across multi-vendor platforms.
- Operate and maintain network platforms including Cisco ACI data centre
fabric, Cisco SD-WAN environments, Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA) campus
networks, and Cisco Secure Network Analytics (SNA) solutions.
- Manage enterprise firewall and network security platforms including Palo Alto
and Checkpoint firewalls, ensuring secure connectivity, traffic inspection, and
policy enforcement.
- Configure and maintain secure network connectivity using IPSec VPN, SSL/TLS
encryption, and Network authentication protocols.
- Monitor network health and performance using enterprise monitoring and
analytics platforms, ensuring proactive identification of network faults,
capacity bottlenecks, and performance degradation.
- Configure and maintain network monitoring, logging, and analytics tools,
integrating telemetry and network flow analysis to support operational
visibility and troubleshooting.
- Support implementation and operation of Network Access Control (NAC), IP
address management systems, and network segmentation frameworks to ensure
secure and compliant network access.
- Provide technical support for SD-WAN deployment, configuration, onboarding of
new sites, and lifecycle maintenance activities across the enterprise WAN
environment.
- Support security operations by integrating network infrastructure with
intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), application gateways, and
threat monitoring platforms.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across data centre, campus, and WAN
environments, ensuring timely incident resolution in accordance with service
level requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to support
incident response, system upgrades, infrastructure changes, and service
improvements.
- Develop automation and operational scripts using tools such as Python,
Ansible, or network orchestration frameworks to improve operational efficiency
and configuration consistency.
- Maintain network documentation, runbooks, and configuration baselines while
supporting internal and external audit requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of routing and switching protocols, SD-WAN
technologies, network segmentation, and enterprise firewall architectures.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms including:
- Cisco ACI
- Cisco SD-WAN
- Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA)
- Cisco Secure Network Analytics (SNA)
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- Understanding of network security principles including IPSec, SSL/TLS, NAC,
network segmentation, and zero-trust architecture frameworks.
