Summary/Objective
Reporting to the SGM BD of JERA Asia, the Manager, Business Development will be responsible for greenfield, brownfield, mergers & acquisition (M&A)power/energy projects portfolio development particularly in the area of thermal and LNG infrastructure related opportunities, to include all supporting development work-streams and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, risk management required in relevant project development, and coordination and collaboration with all related functions (e.g. development, financing, technical etc.). The individual will work directly with the SGM BD and other members of the business development team (including JERA HQ as well as local office members in Asia) to support projects and maximize value creation associated with those projects and the resultant portfolio. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in project development, merger and acquisitions, problem solving, meticulous organization and communicating and working with diverse functional groups.
Essential Functions
· Support business development activities, including identification, evaluation, and execution of new opportunities across Asia and Oceania.
· Assist in the preparation and review of contracts associated with power/energy projects, support in the development of contractual strategies aligned with project, regional, and market objectives.
· Provide analytical support in pre- and post-deal commercial advice, including assessing of contractual and financial risks, and identifying opportunities to add value to the business.
· Assist in project financing and deal structuring strategies.
· Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across all development workstreams and support functions to minimize execution and operational risks.
· Monitor and support management of Time Charter Party agreements and verify commercial reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
· Assist in updating LNG market watch and support commercial activities within JERA Group companies.
· Support the Business Development team with commercial, technical, and solution-oriented perspectives when evaluating new project opportunities.
· Support special projects and assignments as directed.
· Assist in resolving contractual disputes with counterparties, in coordination with the corporate legal team as necessary.

Required Education and Experience;
· University Degree
· 3 to 7 years of experience in project development, structuring, origination, finance and/or similar roles in the power/energy sectors.
