Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF)
If clean books, clean controls and no month-end drama sound oddly satisfying to you, keep reading.
At the Breast Cancer Foundation, finance is more than processing numbers. It is about stewardship, trust and making sure every dollar is handled with care in support of a meaningful mission.
We are looking for a Senior Executive, Finance who brings both technical discipline and steady character — someone who is reliable, thoughtful, values-led, and able to keep things accurate, compliant and moving.
You will support the Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of finance operations, reporting, controls and process improvements. Just as importantly, you will help build confidence across the organisation by being the kind of colleague who is dependable, respectful, clear-headed and calm under pressure.
I. What you’ll do
1. Finance operations and stewardship
- Process donation receipts from multiple channels accurately and on time, with proper supporting records and reconciliation.
- Prepare invoices, vendor payments and reimbursements in accordance with approval workflows, documentation requirements and payment timelines.
- Monitor receivables and follow up professionally on outstanding amounts with the relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely posting of transactions, and support the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, receivables, payables, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of schedules and supporting documents.
- Assist with budget tracking, variance analysis and forecasting support.
- Support the safeguarding of BCF’s financial assets through proper controls, documentation and good finance discipline.
- Support finance and investment-related committee work by preparing schedules, papers and follow-up items as needed.
2. Reporting, audit and compliance
- Prepare accurate and timely internal reports, management schedules and finance dashboards.
- Support statutory, regulatory, grant and funder reporting requirements.
- Assist with audit preparation, including reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation.
- Support donor-related tax compliance processes, including the accurate issuance and tracking of tax-deductible receipts in line with applicable requirements.
- Ensure finance work is carried out in accordance with internal policies, SOPs, controls and relevant accounting and charity-sector requirements.
- Escalate discrepancies, risks or control gaps early, clearly and responsibly.
3. Systems and process improvement
- Support the effective use of finance and donation systems to ensure accurate records, efficient workflows and reliable reporting.
- Maintain good documentation across finance processes, SOPs and working files.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls and reduce manual inefficiencies.
- Contribute to enhancements across systems and tools such as Xero, Stripe, Salesforce and other relevant platforms.
- Use digital tools responsibly, with care for data accuracy, confidentiality and governance.
4. Cross-functional support
- Work closely with teams across Fundraising & Partnerships, Programmes & Services, Advocacy & Communications, and Corporate Functions to support smooth finance processes.
- Communicate early when timelines shift, information is incomplete or follow-up is needed.
- Build constructive working relationships with colleagues, auditors, vendors and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of professionalism, trust, teamwork and continuous improvement.
II. What will make you a strong fit
You bring the technical basics
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Relevant experience in finance or accounting, ideally with exposure to month-end closing, reconciliations, reporting and internal controls.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and operational tools such as Xero, Stripe, Salesforce and strong Excel skills.
- Experience in the non-profit, charity or social impact sector is a plus.
But just as important, you bring the right way of working
We are looking for someone who demonstrates the following qualities in practice:
Integrity
You do the right thing even when no one is watching. You handle funds, records and sensitive information carefully, and you do not cut corners.
Accountability
You take ownership of your work, keep commitments, close loops and flag issues early instead of letting them grow legs.
Collaboration
You work well across teams, share information clearly and understand that finance is here to enable good decisions, not create mystery.
Empathy
You know that accuracy and kindness can co-exist. You communicate professionally, especially when dealing with donors, colleagues or sensitive matters.
Mutual Respect
You listen, stay calm under pressure, and deal with issues directly and respectfully.
Innovation
You are not allergic to better ways of working. You look for practical improvements in processes, systems and reporting, and you use digital tools responsibly.
You’ll likely enjoy this role if you are someone who…
- likes order, accuracy and clear documentation
- can follow a control without becoming robotic
- can follow up firmly without making enemies
- spots gaps early and raises them with evidence, not drama
- values confidentiality and professional judgement
- believes good finance work should be both rigorous and useful
III. Why join BCF
- At BCF, your work supports a mission that matters. You will be part of a team that values empathy, integrity, mutual respect, collaboration, innovation and accountability — not just as posters on a wall, but in how we work every day.
- If you are a finance professional who wants to combine discipline with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
IV. Application note
- BCF is committed to a fair, merit-based and inclusive hiring process. We assess applicants based on job-related skills, experience and values-aligned behaviours. If you require reasonable adjustments during the interview process, you are welcome to let us know. Please submit only information relevant to your application; for your protection, please do not include NRIC/FIN details or other unnecessary personal data at the initial application stage. Any personal data submitted will be handled for recruitment purposes in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
