We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Senior Executive, Accounts & Finance to manage the company’s full set of accounts and support daily finance operations. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, hands-on experience in financial reporting, audit, tax matters, account reconciliation, and cash flow monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Handle full set of accounts and ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and management reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
• Perform monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliation, AP/AR reconciliation, and inter-company accounts where applicable.
• Prepare statement of accounts, ageing reports, and other accounting schedules as required.
• Monitor cashbook updates and ensure fund movements are properly recorded.

Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Flow

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Review quotations, purchase orders, invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting documents.
• Monitor daily cash flow and treasury activities.
• Follow up on outstanding payments and coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors, consultants, and vendors on payment or billing matters.
• Record and monitor progress payments for construction projects, including payments to suppliers, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Assist in audit and tax matters, including preparation of supporting schedules and required documents.
• Prepare tax-related documents and assist in tax filing/payment matters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, clients, vendors, and relevant external parties.
• Keep updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

Internal Control & Process Improvement

• Ensure accounting records and finance processes comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support the improvement of internal controls, procedures, and finance workflows.
• Assist in budget preparation, cost monitoring, revenue tracking, and expense reporting.
• Provide recommendations to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in finance operations.

General Finance Support

• Support procurement-related finance matters and coordinate with other departments within the Group.
• Assist in any other accounting, finance, or administrative tasks assigned by Management from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree, or Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-4 years of relevant working experience in full set accounts, financial reporting, audit, and tax matters.
• Experience in property development, construction, or project-based accounting will be an added advantage.
• Audit firm experience, especially Big Four exposure, will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, tax requirements, and relevant regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of SQL & MYOB accounting software will be an added advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.

General Accounting

• Handle full set of accounts for small/medium companies and dormant companies

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing
• Responsible for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of management account packs, financial statements and regulatory submission.

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

• Insurance Programme Management: Partner with business teams to identify insurable risks and ensure appropriate insurance coverage is maintained. Review policies regularly to ensure they remain aligned with operational requirements across key business lines including Marine/Cargo, Logistics Liability, Property, Cyber, and Corporate Liability policies.
• Policy Administration & Renewals: Coordinate policy renewals, endorsements, declarations, and coverage updates. Lead commercial and technical negotiations alongside brokers during annual renewals to optimise premiums and coverage terms.
• Claims Management: Manage the end-to-end claims process, including incident reporting, documentation, insurer engagement, and settlement. Drive timely recoveries while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Risk Advisory & Business Partnering: Support teams in understanding insurance implications for new initiatives, projects, and operational changes. Provide practical guidance on risk mitigation and insurance requirements.
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Monitor claims trends, policy utilisation, and insurance-related costs to identify opportunities for improvement and support decision-making.
• Risk Management Support: Contribute to broader risk management initiatives, including risk assessments, awareness programmes, governance activities, and risk mitigation efforts.

• Insurance Experience: At least 4 years of experience in insurance management, claims handling, risk management, insurance broking, or a related field. Prior experience in logistics, aviation, supply chain, or e-commerce industries is highly preferred.
• Claims & Policy Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance policies, claims processes, and stakeholder management across insurers, brokers, and internal teams.
• Business Partnering Skills: Able to work effectively across functions and communicate insurance concepts clearly to non-specialists.
• Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Comfortable reviewing policy documentation, analysing claims data, and identifying opportunities to improve risk outcomes.
• Systems & Data Savvy: Proficient in working with data to extract insights, track KPIs, and manage digital tools or risk platforms. Comfortable analysing claims data or trends using spreadsheets or systems to drive continuous improvement.
• Ownership Mindset: Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Conduct ongoing periodic KYC reviews and triggered KYC reviews for existing individual customers.
• Ensure all KYC reviews comply with the bank’s established policies, procedures, and controls.

Requirement:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Banking or related disciplines.
• Fast learner with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work overtime if required.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Adequate written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, so as to communicate with both language speaking customers and verify documents.
• Willingness to handle ad-hoc projects or assignments as required.

Job responsibilities

• Prepare presentation decks for sales team usage for client engagement

• Assist in gathering relevant information and documentation from clients and relevant stakeholders.

• Maintain service standards to develop and improve customer satisfaction and retention

• Ensure that all customer requests are handled in a timely and consistent manner

• Ensure that all transactions are in adherence to regulatory, compliance and internal audit requirements

• Support sales team to provide excellent service to high net-worth clients to achieve client retention

• Partner customer, Business Support and service providers to ensure timely transaction processing and service delivery of customers requirements and enquiries

• Help in organizing and executing client prospecting activities, including lead tracking and initial outreach.

• Support follow-up and meeting scheduling with prospective and existing clients and partners.

Skills and requirements 

• Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.

• At least 3–4 years of experience in a support, coordination, or client service role. Familiarity with insurance application processes and terminology is a strong advantage.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multitask with minimal supervision

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
