Job Description:

Job Purpose

•A bunker surveyor plays a crucial role in the maritime industry, particularly in the shipping and oil sectors. Their job involves ensuring accurate measurement and quality assessment of the bunker fuel (often heavy fuel oil or marine diesel oil) loaded onto vessels.

•A Bunker Surveyor is responsible for inspecting, measuring, and documenting the quantity and quality of bunker fuel loaded onto ships, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Accountabilities

•Fuel Quantity Measurement: Accurately measure the quantity of bunker fuel loaded onto vessels using specialized equipment and methods.

•Quality Assessment: Inspect and sample bunker fuel to assess its quality, including parameters such as viscosity, density, sulfur content, and water content.

•Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of bunker survey findings, including quantity calculations and quality assessments.

•Sampling: Collect representative samples of bunker fuel for laboratory analysis when necessary.

•Compliance: Ensure that bunker operations comply with international standards, local regulations, and contractual agreements.

•Communication: Maintain effective communication with vessel crew, port authorities, and clients to coordinate bunker operations and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

•Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or spills during bunker operations.

•Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that survey equipment is well-maintained and calibrated for accurate measurements.

•Data Analysis: Analyze survey data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement in bunker operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree certification in marine related fields is a plus.

• Knowledge of marine fuel types, industry standards, and regulations.

• Proficiency in using measurement and inspection equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective communication and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Knowledge of safety procedures related to fuel handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tender bids within stipulated deadlines.

• Perform quantity take-off and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Evaluate quotations and prepare cost summaries for tender approval.

• Prepare extension of time (EOT) notifications in the event of potential project delays.

• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders on procurement and project matters.

• Manage pre- and post-tender procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiation, and award of trade packages.

• Handle project administration and contract documentation, including sub-contract agreements and variation orders.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in interior design (ID) or addition & alteration (A&A) works.

• Experience in full interior fit-out project execution preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and rolling projections across a regional investment portfolio, ensuring consistency and reliability of financial data
