THE ROLE:

As a senior staff member of the product characterization team, you will evaluate the performance of AMD AECG products, develop, lead and characterize the next generation Memory Controller IPs.

THE PERSON:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gain expertise into the AMD SoC architecture to characterize next generation Memory Subsystem (Controller, PHY and IO) for various supported protocols such as DDR4, LPDDR4, DDR5, LPDDR5, DDR6 and LPDDR6.
• Understand Pattern development nuances and guide the team for bench data collection and debug with lab instruments when necessary.
• Work closely with cross functional teams from design and firmware side to identify key new features, firmware stability and ensure proper test coverage for the same.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives on automated test scripts and test frameworks for efficient data collection, test-time optimization and data analysis.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Memory specifications and trends to inform product strategy and direction
• Statistical data analysis to post process volume results for data correlation across Process corners and outlier analysis.
• Responsible for isolating the issue to a specific area such as test gaps, SW bug, silicon bug, or process deviation using bench setup and instill good debug practices in the team.
• Drive cross-functional discussions to address the issues uncovered from debugs and collaborate for ensuring screens are in-place for gaps identified.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive years of experience into post-silicon validation with strong background on SoC validation and system level testing.
• Technical leadership experience leading a small group of senior engineers.
• Strong understanding of ARM SoC architecture and Memory protocols such as DDR5 and LPDDR5.
• Experienced on bench testing and debug skills with lab instruments usage.
• Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers.
• Experienced in Linux environment, data analysis and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl) for automation and data processing.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, including data presentation and ability to work well in a group environment that spans across continents.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and FPGA design flow is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS in EE, CS, ECE or related field; MS preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Own product performance from factory to post-installation, ensuring quality and consistency

• Develop new OEM products with suppliers, including defining specifications and evaluating samples

• Manage product sampling process and ensure continuous improvements across iterations

• Balance cost and quality to meet target margins

• Act as the main point of contact for suppliers on technical and quality matters

• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective and preventive actions

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

• Alternatively, 1–2 years of experience in QC, factory operations, or technical roles

• Experience in OEM product development, quality, or manufacturing environment preferred

• Familiar with BOM, product specifications, and technical drawings

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and defect analysis

Brief Description & Role

The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining test procedures and equipment to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of products. This role will be working closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to optimize the testing process, reduce costs, and improve product yield.

Responsibilities

· Conduct production testing of PCBA assemblies and modules according to established test procedures.

· Define and implement comprehensive Manufacturing Test Strategies and plans.

· Perform Design for Testability (DFT) assessments and execute test coverage analyses to optimise product validation.

· Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to embed testing solutions early in the development lifecycle.

· Develop and deploy automated test scripts to support manufacturing processes.

· Design and develop integrated test solutions—encompassing both hardware and software components—including system integration, qualification, and installation to fulfil product, quality, and test requirements specified in the test plan.

· Troubleshoot tester issues utilising design of experiments, diagnostic tools, and failure analysis methodologies.

· Lead failure root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions to enhance product quality.

· Support prototype builds and mass production activities to ensure superior quality standards.

· Provide guidance for remote manufacturing test engineers during debugging processes to facilitate effective problem resolution.

Skills, Experiences & Knowledge

• Able to read and interpret new product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics and bills of materials (BOM). Knowledge of electronic hardware.
• Expertise in Manufacturing Test Solutions, including Test Fixture Development
• Knowledge of basic hardware debugging and use of digital multi-metres, oscilloscope, RF signal generator, spectrum analyser, VNA etc
• Knowledge of test automation concepts and ability to develop test software applications and test scripts.
• Knowledge of test automation software like LabVIEW/TestStand, Python, and FunTEST

Brief Description & Role

The candidate will be responsible for defining, developing and executing reliability strategies for our cutting-edge RF products throughout their entire lifecycle, from design and development to manufacturing.  He/She will play a critical role in identifying potential failure mechanisms, implementing robust testing strategies, and driving continuous improvement to deliver exceptional product quality to our customers.

Responsibilities

·       Collaborate closely with design and development teams during the early stages of product development to incorporate reliability best practices into product design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.

·       Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive reliability test plans (e,g, accelerate life testing, environmental testing, HALT/HASS, highly accelerated stress screening) for components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.

·      Conduct in-depth failure analysis on field returns, manufacturing defects and test failures to identify root causes using various analytical techniques (e.g. microscopy, X-ray, cross sectioning, electrical testing).

·      Analyze reliability test data, field failure data, and warranty date to identify trends, predict product lifetime, and generate insightful reports for cross-functional teams and management.

·      Perform reliability risk assessments throughout the product lifecycle, proposing mitigation strategies and recommending design or process changes to improve product robustness.

·      Work with suppliers to ensure the reliability of purchased components and materials, establishing reliability requirements and monitoring supplier quality.

·      Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product design, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies to enhance overall product reliability and reduce warranty costs.

·      Partner effectively with R & D, manufacturing, Quality, Service, and Project teams to ensure a holistic approach to product reliability.

·      Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, test results, failure analyses, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical field.

Skills, Experiences & Knowledge

• Preferably with at least 3 years experience in product reliability engineering for RF devices, modules and systems.
• Demonstrated experience to conduct with Mean Team between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) analysis and reliability prediction software such as RAM Commander, Lambda Predict or similar tools.
• Preferably with hands on experience with RF test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Experience with failure analysis methodologies and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
