As a Security Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you will be providing the technical capability in the creation and integration of Security Firmware IP for use in SSD products. The lifecycle of this responsibility is associated with the organization's product development life cycle and can range from product inception to obsolescence or any portion that is defined by specific assignments. You will also be responsible for providing technical support to implement the development and quality assurance processes necessary to insure the firmware IP consistently provides the required functionality, security, usability, quality/reliability, performance, and ensure Micron SSDs meet their design targets.

Responsibilities:

DEVELOP AND TEST FIRMWARE

• SSD products: Develop Security firmware IP subsystems for SSD products that meet or exceed the requirements of the technical spec matrix; including, but not limited to: Security, Performance, Functionality, and Quality/Reliability

• Firmware Quality Assurance: Develop a firmware unit and functional tests that ensures the firmware subsystem meets the quality, functional, and performance requirements required at each integration breakthrough in the product development lifecycle

COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY

• Dedicatedly provide to management, multi-functional team members, and the firmware team consistent, detailed, and properly summarized information regarding activities within the firmware development organization and status of firmware development projects

Requirements :

• PhD/Masters/Bachelors in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering 

• In-depth knowledge and minimum 3 years' experience in embedded firmware development

• Embedded Security domain knowledge and experience is required

• Expertise in the use of programming languages (eg. C, C++, RUST), programming tools & environments

• Experience programming in Python is an advantage

• Understanding of storage interfaces including ideally PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS

• Experience with NAND flash and other non-volatile storage is an advantage

• Experience in storage industry, storage systems, or a related technology is an advantage

• Experience in conduct analysis, designs, performs programming, debugs, and modifies software

• Proficiency in resolving code problems for firmware applications

• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
  

  Conducts analysis, designs, performs programming, debugs and modifies software. Troubleshoots code for firmware applications. Utilizes analog and digital hardware and software operating systems. Typically programs in machine language, assembly language and high level languages, (e.g., C, C++)

Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting of chiller systems to ensure reliable operation and optimal efficiency.
• Deliver professional customer support by responding promptly to client queries and issues related to chiller operations and maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and control system faults with effective corrective actions.
• Advise and educate clients on proper operating and maintenance practices to extend equipment lifespan.
• Prepare clear and detailed service reports, including work performed, findings, and improvement recommendations.
• Perform commissioning for new chiller installations, ensuring systems are correctly installed and operate according to specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, agents, and contractors to verify system performance and compliance with technical requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with contractors to promote teamwork and effective problem-solving.
• Share technical knowledge with contractors to enhance processes and overall service quality.
• Comply strictly with workplace safety regulations and procedures during all service activities.
• Conduct safety briefings to ensure all parties are aware of and adhere to safety responsibilities.
• Operate in various site environments, including outdoor and plant room settings.
• Perform field-based duties with regular travel to customer locations.
• Provide standby support and respond to chiller breakdowns when assigned.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in chiller maintenance, commissioning, or related HVAC roles.
• Certified in Building Construction Supervisors Safety Courses or equivalent safety training.
• Strong technical expertise in chiller systems, HVAC fundamentals, and electrical control systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work well with clients and internal teams.
• Capable of working independently while managing time and priorities efficiently.
• Consistently meet maintenance schedules and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
• Proven ability to accurately diagnose and repair chiller system faults through systematic assessments.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and technical competence in all customer engagements.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with customers on service progress, timelines, and updates.
• Provide clear explanations of work performed and practical recommendations for future maintenance.
