We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Commercial Manager to join our growing Commercial team. Key Responsibilities:
Business development: Identify and secure new opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Market intelligence: Conduct research and monitor industry trends to inform commercial strategies.
Client acquisition: Drive proactive outreach, including cold-calling and lead generation.
Relationship management: Build and sustain strong client partnerships through regular engagement and responsive service.
Contract negotiation: Negotiate agreements and prepare contracts within defined parameters.
Cross-functional collaboration: Align commercial initiatives with operational objectives.
Strategic insights: Provide market-driven recommendations to support long-term planning.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Relevant commercial background with proven success in key account management and vessel chartering, preferably within the marine towage industry either port operations or ocean-going towage.
Self-starter with strong initiative and resilience under pressure.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Minimum 5–7 years in a managerial role, with prior experience engaging client decision-makers and senior management.

Responsibilities:
Ensure vessels comply with safety, environmental, maritime, and regulatory requirements, including class and flag state regulation & requirements. Oversee the daily operations of the tugboat fleet to ensure compliance with company standards.
Supervise the planning and execution of regular maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities, while ensuring the vessels are always prepared for operational deployment.
Provide technical support to the vessel during operational issues or breakdowns, troubleshooting and resolving any technical problems that arise in daily operations. Collaborate with crew members/Chief Engineers and contractors to quickly and effectively address equipment malfunctions or failures.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess vessel condition and ensure timely certification. Promote a safety-first culture by maintaining safety standards.
Develop and manage annual maintenance and repair budgets for the fleet.
Prepare detailed maintenance plans and schedules, including the coordination of dry dockings and planned maintenance activities.
Track and report on maintenance and repair costs, ensuring expenditure remains within budget.
Provide technical training and development to crew members to ensure they are highly skilled and familiar with onboard systems. Assist and participate in drills and emergency exercises to ensure crew members are fully prepared for emergencies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical records for each vessel, including maintenance logs, inspections, and repairs, while preparing and submitting regular reports on fleet performance, technical issues, and maintenance status to management.
Oversee all technical projects, including vessel retrofits, upgrades, and modifications, while coordinating the work of external contractors and suppliers involved in these projects.
Carry out other duties assigned by the Management.
Requirements:
Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping)
Preferably with Certificate of Competency (COC2)
Minimum 4-6 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent
Relevant experience in electrical and automation systems
Experience in technical management of tugboats (advantageous)
Understanding of maritime operations and regulations
Sea-going experience (preferred)
Ability to manage technical operations of vessels
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good project management skills, particularly with fleet maintenance and technical projects.
