The Opportunity
Our client is a young and dynamic Boutique Construction Cost and Quantity Surveying Consultancy operating strictly within Singapore’s corporate commercial sectors. Leveraging its SBMSA membership strategically, the company provides agile, high-caliber financial management, procurement control, and contract administration services specifically tailored for commercial corporate portfolios, industry main contractors, and private developers.
Driven by precision and commercial expertise, they specialize in bridging the gap between technical project execution and strategic cost engineering—focusing on commercial tenders, bulk material and resource estimations, subcontracting workflows, and specialized building or spatial fit-outs. Operating from a modern, accessible corporate office, the company fosters an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced environment built entirely upon deep B2B trade partnerships and corporate network alliances. They are currently seeking a driven, mid-level Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct material take-offs, bulk estimations, and initial budget planning for commercial spatial fit-outs.
- Prepare preciseBills of Quantities (BQ), compile tender documents, and evaluate contractor bid packages.
- Formulate and assess monthly progress claims, variation orders (VOs), and interim payment certifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers and leverage trade alliances (including SBMSA) to manage subcontracting workflows.
- Manage contract closure procedures, resolve pricing disputes, and settle final corporate accounts.
*responsibilities are truncated and non-exhaustive.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction/Project Management, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline
- 3 – 5+ years of hands-on quantity surveying and commercial cost management experience
- Proven track record across varied commercial fit-outs and renovation projects
- Working knowledge of measurement software and advanced Microsoft Excel cost-modelling skills, with strong familiarity with local standard contracts (e.g., SIA, REDAS, commercial subcontracts)
- Sound negotiation and interpersonal skills for managing corporate landlords, main contractors, and developers
- Fluent in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Chinese clients and trade stakeholders
