The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer our understanding of emerging infections through world-class research that integrates immunology, infection biology, pathogen genomics, and computational approaches. This integration drives comprehensive studies of host–pathogen interactions across molecular, individual, and population scales to address emerging health challenges.

We are seeking a highly motivated full-time Research Fellow to join our team working on the molecular virology, evolution and pathogenesis of influenza viruses.

This position integrates field-based, wet lab, and dry lab research, including virus immunology, genomic evolution, and functional characterisation. The successful candidate will apply both experimental and computational approaches to investigate viral dynamics, host interactions, and zoonotic risk.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Virology, Immunology and Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of research experience in influenza viruses.
• Proven experience in both wet lab (e.g., molecular, serology, animal studies) and dry lab (e.g., genomic analysis, modelling) research.
• Proficiency with metagenomics pipelines and evolutionary analyses.
• Prior experience working in BSL-3 laboratories is preferred.

Purpose of the post 
The Research Fellow will be an essential staff leading the development of radiopharmaceuticals, including focusing on innovative strategies for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Assisting in the development of new radiochemical synthesis methods and new molecular imaging probes 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Fellow will be able to: 

•    Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of radiochemists and research scientists, manage complex radiochemistry projects, and contribute to the advancement of innovative treatments for medical imaging and cancer therapy. Able to provide technical expertise, career development, and performance management. Promote a collaborative and high-performance work environment. 

•    Research & Development: Drive the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel radiopharmaceuticals, focusing on innovative strategies for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Oversee the development and optimization of radiochemical methodologies and perform routine production of radiopharmaceuticals using automated radiochemistry synthesis modules to carry out radioisotope incorporation (e.g., F-18, C-11) and radiotracer formulation. Assisting in the development of new radiochemical synthesis methods and new molecular imaging probes.
•    Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple research projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and in alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
•    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including cGMP, FDA, EMA, and other relevant standards. Lead efforts for the preparation and submission of regulatory documentation for new radiopharmaceutical products and foster a culture of scientific excellence within the laboratory.
•    Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and external collaborators, to ensure successful translation of research findings to clinical applications.
•    Innovation & Process Optimization: Identify and implement new technologies, techniques, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and quality of radiopharmaceutical production. Continuously seek opportunities for innovation in radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.

•    Laboratory Management: Assist in writing of SOPs, involved in routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment; and any ad hoc duties as required for this role.
•    Budget Management: Manage the research budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Oversee the procurement of necessary materials, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications

•    Education: PhD in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
•    Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in radiopharmaceutical research and development, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role.
•    Expertise: In-depth knowledge of radiochemical synthesis, purification techniques, and characterization methods for radiopharmaceuticals. Expertise in GMP practices and regulatory compliance is required.

•    Technical Skills: Proficient in radiochemical instrumentation and analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, TLC, gamma spectroscopy). Familiarity with drug development and clinical trial processes is a plus.

•    Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in radiochemical processes and product development.

The A*STAR Skin Research Labs is seeking a Scientist with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology to lead and support analytical research on the Digital Twin of Skin (DTS) and optical metrology of Asian skin. Skin is a remarkably complex organ, and our approach embraces this richness by decomposing it across multiple spatial and biological scales—nano, micro, and meso. At the nanoscale, this includes molecular and cellular information such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and other biochemical constituents, while higher scales capture tissue structure, optical properties, and functional responses.

The Digital Twin of Skin will integrate rigorous biophysical modeling with state-of-the-art AI methodologies into a unified framework that links mechanisms with data and prediction with interpretation. Importantly, the DTS will be explicitly tailored to address melanin-related challenges in Asian skin, including its influence on optical signatures, light–tissue interactions, and downstream diagnostic and therapeutic accuracy. By embedding melanin-aware modeling across scales, the platform aims to enable more accurate, equitable, and clinically relevant skin analytics.

This work sits at the intersection of physics, biology, and machine intelligence, and offers a rare opportunity to shape how skin health, diagnostics, and interventions are understood and developed for Asian populations.

Assist HOD (Science) to liaise with vendors in procurement for inventory management in Science Labs
Organise resources neatly with name labels in the Science Labs
Assist the teacher to facilitate student discussions
Tidying up of Science Labs

• Preparation of Resources

Co-ordinate loan request from teachers in the Science Labs
Preparing and set up of resources according to scheme of work & specifications given by teachers in the Science Labs
Printing and photocopying jobs in the Printing Room
Preparation of teaching aids such as cutting and lamination works in the Science Labs

• Administrative Duties:

Assist with other ad-hoc administrative duties and preparation of resources for the Authority as required by the school and/or department.

• 1 year of working experience in Primary School Science Lab
