Job Responsibilities

• Ensures vessels are operated in a safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective manner, in compliance with Class and Statutory and Company's Safety Management System requirements
• Sets goals and expectations, proactively putting in place performance outcomes for sea staff compliance
• Provides coaching and works to develop juniors, as well as Masters, Chief Engineers and officers with potential onboard
• Provides day to day technical and operational support and guidance to assigned vessels
• Monitors vessel performance and ensures timely, efficient and effective follow-up actions
• Prepares and manages vessel budgets and optimises operating expenditure while ensuring that the vessels are operated and maintained to the standards required by our Clients
• Plans, monitors and manages dry-dockings and major repairs for our client’s vessel
• Carries out regular vessel visits, including sailing visits, to confirm condition and compliance with company standards

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant technical experience with ship owner, operator or ship management company. Experience with sea time as Engineering marine crew preferred.
• Degree (MEng or MSc) or equivalent qualification in Naval Architecture /Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline.
• Effective communicator with a good command of Mandarin and English to communicate with Chinese seafarers, owners and colleagues from Shanghai office.
• Be ready for frequent travel globally without restriction.

Job Summary

The Crewing Executive is responsible for the effective planning, recruitment, deployment, and management of seafarers for offshore vessels, ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and client requirements. The role supports safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations through proactive crew management.

Key Responsibilities & Functions

• Crew Planning & Logistics: Managing crew changes, visa applications, and flight arrangements for personnel joining offshore vessels.
• Recruitment & Selection: Sourcing seafarers, collaborating with crewing agencies, and arranging interviews for officers.
• Compliance & Certification: Verifying seafarer certificates, managing Flag State license applications, and ensuring compliance with minimum safe manning standards.
• Administrative Support: Maintaining accurate records in the crewing system, assist with Payroll, updating rotation plans, and handling crew appraisals.
• Onboarding/Offboarding: Coordinating pre-departure briefings and managing the mobilization of crew. Submit crew sign-on/off information via the MPA DigitPort portal for Singapore-flagged vessels.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma with relevant maritime qualification preferred.
• Minimum [3] years of experience in crewing for offshore or marine vessels.
• Strong knowledge of offshore vessel operations and crew requirements.
• Sound understanding of STCW, MLC 2006, flag state, and client compliance standards and Audits requirement.
• Familiarity with crewing software and MS Office applications.
• Organized, proactive, and able to take initiative.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Able to multitask and work independently.
